I usually go on facebook to watch some funny crap my friends’ posts from time to time, but sometimes I see women just p~~~ing their weird feelings all over the place.

for instance, if one has a birthday, you see her sisters pours the personal s~~~, for everyone to see, they also whine about men there and talk about things which I tend to keep in private unless I’m in an anonymous MGTOW forum.

I don’t get it.. For me, these things are personal, if I wanted to thank someone and tell him that he is awesome then I would simply text him, why the f~~~ would you publish it, along with all the personal details between you two, for everyone to read ?

This is just one of many reasons why I no longer have a Facebook account.

Facebook is all about attention seeking. The owner mark zukeberg posted his wife’s miscarriage and he said how kind words from people helped them to get back.

Fb is good for people with depression, suicidal tendencies etc who dont have friends around them to share BUT the truth is unless you are a woman no one is going to reply you and give consolation.

FB is a good place for women for support but for men it is like walking in a desert unless you post pics of you owning nice cars and house.

I agree It’sallbs, it’s attention seeking. Women like facebook also because it’s one of the ways they pick up guys or get attention from men. A lot of affairs start on facebook, “a lot”. It’s innocent. So people can be at work and tpying on facebook, o I’m just on facebook.

I personally have a facebook account with 0 friends. I use it for groups that I’m involved in that have to do with learning. That’s all I use it for. And then sometimes you have to sign in using facebook. Privacy set very high, no one can search for me, under a different email than my normal email.

Also most people in society measure their self worth by likes.

What is interesting. If you watch youtube channels, how they evolve, the popular channels.

The liking, not liking. It creates a self regulating system. So the biology will actually transform the mind, survival. With thoughts and ideas constantly being monitored and voted on it creates the ultimate democracy or mob rule.

When people were alone, they might have an idea, vote or make buying decisoins based on that idea never questioning it. Now with everything online and being voted for, it’s literally changing the way people think.

I personally am not addicted to approval. When I was on facebook(when I had friends on facebook) and I did get approval, I found it extremely alien/strange behavior and it made me feel very uncomfortable because “it’s weird”. “Why do people want that?” that’s all I could ask myself. It doesnt make sense to me. However, I can observe the phenomenon and come to the conclusion that it’s fairly ‘normal’ for people to behave this way.

Hive mind kind crap going on. Big melting pot of tolerance. Conservatives and Traditionals and Liberals and whatever, these different mindsets, all blending into one to get the most likes and the least amount of dislikes.

It’s the ultimate thought control experiment and it’s self perpetuating. There’s no one out there having to work to keep it running.

I believe the like buttons are to like anything that contributes to the thread.

However, possibly the same phenomenon occurs.

This forum is a generic program. It’s a feature that is just there from the purchased software.

However, you bring up a good point. But… I’m not sure men are as succeptible to it as women. Never the less, if men are paying attention to it, it could possibly have an effect on their post and what they write.

To the same degree as Facebook or Instagram have on women. I don’t think so. But it could still have some effect.

    it is called “virtue signaling”

It is a form of being an attention whore. Basically they are just saying “look at me ! I am saying all the right things (as defined by my friends) !! ”

the intended audience is their own: echo chamber / social structure / tribe

I am not on Facebook. I left FB in 2009 when advised to leave it by my divorce lawyer. One of the only valuable pieces of advice he gave me. FB is routinely used by divorce lawyers to gather info on the enemy to use against them. Keep your life to yourself !

Yeah I never got why men are on facebook. It’s great (short term) for women, they get so much attention and adulation. I’m convinced they could literally show pictures of them taking a s~~~, and they’d be praised for being heroic and incredible and deep and smart. After all, I’ve seen them put pictures of them having periods and that happened, and there is one “artist” that literally bleeds and s~~~s on stuff and calls it “art”.

People pestered me to get facebook, and then when I did, barely anyone ever spoke to me on it. It seems like it’s mostly strangers, and nobody really replies to anything except to women attention whoring, otherwise everyone writes their s~~~ and then won’t have a conversation. I’ve heard Millennials are really bad at conversations now and can’t actually have one. That’s interesting to me, because it’s the easiest thing in the world, so I don’t know how seriously to take it. But I’ve seen how they interact online, and if that’s how they try to act in person, that could make sense.

It’s funny how people would rather babble their s~~~ to strangers on the internet than talk to people in person. In person they have their heads in their phones and act like they’re too good to talk to anyone, even when they’re out in groups, they won’t talk to each other. Makes me wonder why they bothered to go out with each other.

I’ve always had the mentality that if you’re not willing to have a good, civil conversation with common courtesy, then don’t waste my time at all. I’m not going to make myself available to be spoken to. You have to earn my time, because my time is valuable. And I respond in kind, I treat people with respect and give them my undivided attention. But it seems most people just want to make it look like they’re really busy and don’t actually want to talk, so I don’t bother with any of them. I don’t use facebook, and I only make time available for a small handful of people through skype or text or phone or whatever. E-mail is good for those that genuinely don’t have time, because you can work on it over a few days and then send it off, and the other person can reply whenever too. But most don’t want to use that either.

I agree with the poster that said it’s just for women to virtue signal. And it’s just how things are honestly. I don’t have time for it, and neither do most MGTOW I bet.

    This is an excellent summary/observation.

I’ve mentioned before I’ve suffered from severe depression and the time during my divorce was the hardest time of my life. I wasn’t posting about it all over Facebook but people knew what was going on and I got little to no support. After I started reading about how social media/Facebook exacerbates depression I got off. Done.

Also, my ex started at least one affair through Facebook.

Big study was done on FB

It concluded that in everyday conversation, people discuss themselves 40% of time

In FB posts, people discuss themselves 80% of the time

Conclusion? FB has doubled the rate of narcissism among human communication

Used to participate in this sort of thing, until it played a part in losing my first job. Stress first and foremost, but it was a mistake to vent on it for my boss to see.

Nowadays I mostly use it for memes, a place to store pictures and videos of family trips, etc., stay in touch with people I otherwise couldn’t contact. Never really share personal stuff publicly anymore and definitely no coworkers. I’ve debated closing it but it would cause too much fuss from those that know me.

I see you did not follow OldBill’s advice. The fuss will be short-lived and your life will be better in the long-run. You could try deactivating for a period of time and see how you go. Think about it.
