I saw a documentary on giant sized humans that may have lived long ago. Believe it or not here in America giant sized skeletons were found in the 1800s buried in Native American burial mounds. Every time a giant skeleton was found the Smithsonian Museum would step in and hide the evidence. Even President Abraham Lincoln wrote something on the subject. There is a reference to this in the Old Testament of the Bible as well, just google the Nephilim. This giant race was said to have double rows of teeth, two rows of molars running side by side, with a huge jaw bone. It’s not to far fetched when you consider all the giant sized mammals of the Stone Age, like Dire wolves, saber toothed cats, and mastodons. On the flip side of the giant race, there have been tiny human skeletons found on islands in the South Pacific and Indian Ocean, they actually call them Hobbits. There is actually more proof of the hobbits then the giant race. Crazy stuff.

It’s troubling to see threads like this. I love all the people on this site but there is a disease of pseudo science and fake news being blasted into media at a rate never before seen. TV, online, even previously respected journals….all peddling this crap because its sells.

Just look at the massive list of conspiracies and flat earth stuff. Creationist stuff, Scientology, UFO believers….

People believe what they want to believe based on emotion. It doesn’t matter if you can prove them wrong, they wont listen… they want to believe in ancient aliens, 9-11 inside jobs, shadow governments, massacre hoaxes, flat earth and much more. They get a chemical high from it, Alex Jones serves them up a line and they snort that s~~~ like a drug.

Ancient Aliens is pure bunk. Spacetime is too vast to cross, period, end of story. Anyone pushing for this has much to learn about physics and how far stars really are from one another. Its simply impossible for fleshly beings to traverse stars. There are caveats but as far as Earth goes, we have never been visited, period. If ever there was a credible UFO sighting, what they saw was an unmanned ET drone craft from a long extinct species thousands of years travel time away.

That said, aside from the authenticity of the Torah, nothing in any of the Abrahamic texts can be taken as actual gospel. We have dig sites and historical record of the texts in all three being redacted and modified for political gain. There is literally nothing in these books that hasn’t been changed about every century.

In order for the Earth to cast a shadow on the Moon, it has to be in between the Sun and the Moon. This is called a lunar eclipse and while not rare, it certainly does not happen every day. Have you never seen the sun and a “partial” moon in the sky at the same time? There is no way the earth is between them when that occurs. The “shadow” you see on the moon is simply the side that is not illuminated by the sun, just like we have night time on the earth.

So far this year, there have only been 2 lunar eclipses, one in Jan. and the other in Feb. There will be 2 more in Jul. and one more in Aug. for a total of 5 for the entire year. However, the phases of the moon will continue each month.

I agree that earth is round and flat earth theory is nonsense. Just wanted to correct you on the phases of the moon. As with the earth, only half of the moon can be illuminated by the sun at any given time. Night time on earth happens because the sun is on the other side of the planet. Same with the moon.

While I can’t perfectly understand much of science, I’m inclined to take it’s side over what I perceive to be preposterous claims about transubstantiation, miracles, an afterlife and moral punishment. I’m a major Sam Harris fan who has read all his books. (Yes, I’m aware Sam Harris a blue pill simp. That doesn’t discount his stellar achievements in literature).

Ultimately I moved on from debating Creationists and Christians. Its a dead end. Anthropomorphic illusion is too ingrained in humans. You can’t fight the subjective bias. They don’t understand objectivity. Their faith makes them feel good. They fall for silly arguments like irreducible complexity, the cuteness of flowers and the anthropic principle…all proven to be stupid…but they don’t care about proof, they care about feeling bliss while imagining that a higher power has their back.

No one will ever know exactly how this universe began. Unless you were there at the time, there’s no way to prove any theory. I do believe the big bang theory is very possible, but that is because I also believe God created that infinitesimal point and caused it to explode.

It’s important to realize that time and space are not separate. Its the same fabric. There are no dimensions, those are just tools for arithmetic.

So you have Spacetime warped and squished into a tiny point with massive energy. It’s not too hard to imagine. What’s ironic is what that pinhead became; what we have now is almost incomprehensible but there it is, available for anyone to see…thousands of distant galaxies (not stars, galaxies!) in dark spots of the sky no bigger than a fingernail clipping.

Its also important to remember, that tiny pinpoint of dense energy and warped spacetime was merely a seed. The real power that blew it up into the Universe we see is Dark Energy. This is where I can’t understand, even in laymen’s terms. It may as well be stoichiometry or calculus because I don’t understand. I barely can understand general relativity.

I think a lot of people believe in God but their definition for God is more along the lines of pantheism. I wish they would distinguish themselves from regular Abrahamic faiths.
