So I’m wondering what web solution I should use? I want to register, build, and host all on one platform.
My options that I have heard good things about:
-godaddy’s website builder (I currently have two sites on here)
-godaddy’s cpanel
-bluehost’s cpanel + wordpressShould I stick with my current solution, or change around? How long would each solution take to learn?
I actually know very little about cpanel and wordpress, all I’m aware is that they’re the tools web designers are using today.
I want to get into basic website building, keyword “basic” meaning “home/about/services/contact/basic webapps” kind of thing. (I know html and css and can learn *insert language here* in basically no time but I don’t know any of the modern frameworks/tools because my knowledge is about 5 years outdated, so I’m wondering which ones I should invest the learning)I also want to get into building micro-websites (kind of like this: http://themagicemail.com/).
Since I’m planning on building a ton of sites, it’s actually important for me to find the best balance between features and overhead.
No idea why I’m asking this on mgtow.
Write "What is MGTOW?" on paper money and spend it. Spreading MGTOW with complete deniability. (ノಠ益ಠ)ノ彡┻━┻
Anonymous42Absolute positioning, scroll over effects, no ftp, html editing. lots of bells and whistles. That’s my opinion.
PM my man Code Bunker. He knows s~~~ about computers.
Love is just alimony waiting to happen. Visit mgtow.com.
Wordpress is mostly a CMS (content management system) and not a “tool for building websites”.
I would recommend Bootstrap as your responsive framework for building sites for all mobile and desktop devices. You can build a static 5-page site with it… or a full on WordPress theme. If you are confident with HTML, JS, and CSS you’re all good to go and can start creating pages and sites today.
What you use to DRIVE them (CMS) is another ball of wax. That can vary.
You can build a site using any kind of markup on top of any preferred CMS.Start with a google search for “best responsive framework”. You can build a static site to start, and then start adding intelligence, and hook it into any CMS you prefer.
If you keep doing what you've always done... you're gonna keep getting what you always got.I built my site four years ago using WordPress. It’s hosted by DreamHost, and I’ve been perfectly happy with both services.
My specialty is creating content about DIY finish carpentry, so the site theme does not need to be complex because the content is just text, pictures and embedded video.
I’m getting ready to open a store on my site and should have the first couple of products ready by the end of May. With an average of 5000 page views a day, I’m bound to sell something. With luck and a lot of hard work I’ll be able to quite my day job in a year or so.
