What that young Hispanic man has, (but didn’t mention) is respect from the family he supports. In the historic, traditional way, he has respect from those who surround him because he deserves it. He has earned it. He has done what most men have always historically done… which is to take on the responsibility and make the sacrifices of his time and his effort and often his health and safety to acquire resources that benefit his family. He almost certainly is the “El Jefe” in his family and that level of control and respect from his family is the other end of the sacrifice and effort that he makes for their lives to be possible. That was the (largely unspoken) social contract on which greater civilization was constructed. He may have failed to mention the respect he has because it is (was) such a foregone conclusion that mentioning it is (was) redundant.
Wether or not that was a fair and reasonable deal for everyone in the family wasn’t ever really discussed, because for most of history, the survival of the species made it a biological necessity.
Today, in most of the western world, men have been so successful for so long at making the lives of their families comfortable, that it is now taken for granted, and no longer worthy of that respect. Not only are men no longer valued and respected for what we have done on behalf of other people, many of those other people are now demanding that society be modified in such a way as to make it easier for them to secure those resources for themselves. They are unwilling to make the equal effort and sacrifice to secure the resources for their own existence, and equally unwilling to respect a man who will do it for them.
Now, the latest generation of children (often of both genders) finishes college expecting to start at enormous salaries, and expects companies who provide those salaries to restructure themselves in order to make their jobs easier.
By most accounts, this young Hispanic man is one of those men that western single women are referring to when they ask, ‘Where have all the good men gone?’. For now, he still has that ingredient (respect) that motivates him to stick to that ‘good man’ behavior of effort and sacrifice on behalf of others. But if he is an American, he lives under a set of laws that make all the sacrifice and effort on his part mandatory, while making the respect he gets in return for it completely optional. This fits the definition of slavery.
A slave owner always has the option to respect her slave. But it’s only an option, no longer a requirement.
Today, the ability of a capable man to secure resources beyond what his own existence requires is no longer an inspiration for respect from women who would hope to be the beneficiary of the excess. That ability now makes him a target for harvesting those resources from him. Mandatory respect is long gone.
And optional respect is not sufficiently reliable for me to gamble on it the proceeds of all the resources I am capable of securing with my time, effort and sacrifice.
Therefore, MGTOW.
