The first book I EVER read was a paperback on a tall revolving cylindrical display in a drug store. I was 9yrs old. The paperback was “Thunderball” with James Bond. I was hooked! Villans with deadly nuclear weapons, SCUBA diving equipment! (back then, this stuff was relatively new). Spying in a dangerous place where everyone was your enemy, …. and of course,… WOMEN!! (What else could a young boy want?!?)
All that said: My favorite movie is probably “Goldfinger”
I like all the Bond films, but the early ones I like a little better.
Daniel Craig made a great “Bond” in Casino Royale I thought.

Bond’s love for Vesper Lynd was okay in my book. Nice change from the usual. I’m a sucker for brunettes.

Favorite was Skyfall. Spectre was okay but I hated the blonde chick. I loved it because of Christoph Waltz

I’m very glad Daniel Craig is doing one more. They better not blow it.

Also, changing Bond to a girl or anything other than a white Scotsman would be a disservice to the character. It would be like casting Tom Hanks to play 2Pac, it just doesn’t fit. 007 is a Scottish white dude. I love Idris Elba from his role in Prometheus, but if they cast him as 007, I’m done paying to watch or buying the DVD, I hate when they ruin characters. It has nothing to do with race, the character is a white guy, period.
