And if you ask him what was his favorite days? When people don’t notice he is Jay Leno!

Many years ago, I saw Jay Leno at Tower Records in West Hollywood. He had this look on his face like he didn’t want to be bothered with people, so I didn’t try to talk to him. That was the only time I ever saw a famous person up close, and it caught me off guard.

Money won’t make you happy. Only you can do that.

I don’t care about happiness. I want some money!

I would buy the expensive hot dogs. I’ve always wanted to know what they taste like…

I fully understand that comment and your follow up post.
S~~~, that pack of hotdogs was $10.00 in Churchill MB not too long ago, a single box of “no name” mac and cheese was $6.95.

There was a time in my life when I gave a fuck. Now you have to pay ME for it

I don’t want to be mega rich I just want enough money so that I don’t have to think about it anymore. If I could have the same lifestyle I have now just with no mortgage and a couple of hundred grand in the bank that would do for me. I would be happy doing a part time least responsibility possible job in that situation.

Annoyingly, if I had never got married I would now, at the age of 45 be in that situation.

For women, everything eventually boils down to Alpha Fucks, Beta Bucks.

In Russia he would end up his business behind bars. So the very first thing to become a mega-rich is to live in the country where you are protected by the law.

See, that lifestyle would/will fit me perfectly. I already have trouble making friends and trusting them, not that I want to or like having people around. When you’re in the middle of your wall-guarded house, you don’t hear the neighbours so you have peace and quiet. All you need is one trustworthy (paid) person to be your assistant just to get food from the grocery store and mow the lawn or something and you’re set. Some sort of Smithers-like minion.

Or you could buy your own island. Some are for sale, they’re out there.

One thing I’ve realized recently is that I don’t care anymore about poor people. Before you start hating me, let me assure you that I’m aware that there are exceptions to this. Lots of men are poor because of the gynocentric system, it’s on this site, I know that.

But I’m talking about the so-called gap between the rich and the poor. I was watching a TV show that is very Robinhoodesque in its storyline. I thought: lots of rich people are rich because they’ve worked incredibly hard (and smart), they’ve made a lot of sacrifices, they deserve their wealth. And lots of poor people are poor because they’re plain ol’ stupid. Can’t hold down a job because they’re lazy and entitled, can’t save a dollar because they’re immature in their relationship with money and build up mountains of debt AND blame others for it.

I really have no sympathy left for these dummies.

I’ll be paying for my next car cash, MGTOW-style.

I guess I’m going over to the dark side, but that’s what society has made me into. *drops mic*

I watch clips of the Dave Ramsey show and there’s usually some moron who calls in with a $100,000 student loan. (S)he usually has a bachelor’s degree in arts & humanities.

Bringing back an old thread. In my current situation, I’d like to win about $1M after tax in the lottery. Enough to give some security, but not enough to cause problems (of course, this goes without saying, but ideally the wife doesn’t find out as she’d feel obligated to give $ to her family, and her sister would have her hands out anyway). Fund the kids’ 529 accounts fully to age 18 (around $100K total), do some work to the house (say $150K), stick $50K in a savings account, and invest the rest. Both still work.

In a perfect world, I’d be single and win enough to retire (say $50M after tax). I’d keep my house and car, quit my job, and just live off of the interest. I’m in a state where lottery winners can remain anonymous, so I’d have my attorney set up a trust and have the trust claim the winnings. I’d drive around the country seeing the sights, and not have a care in the world.

I do know that if we did win the lottery now, I’d try like hell to keep my wife from finding out if possible.

I am already mega-rich… I have great friends, one friend that I can call my brother, a good brother, a great father and a good mother.
I have some of the toys I want, the others is just matter of saving a bit more money.

I have a few troubles here and there, but my bills are paid, I have no debt, a good education, and not a single thing to suck my bank account.

And I make a medium salary in my country, in my profession (QA in IT).

Money does not define how rich you are. That is an illusion.
You can live among dirt and be richer than Jeff Bezos.
All it takes is the correct mindset.

"Young was I once, I walked alone, and bewildered seemed in the way; then I found me another and rich I thought me, for man is the joy of man." Odin, Hàvamàl, stanza 47.
