Just saw this article, made me think about Brad Wilcox, the tradcon who keeps pushing marriage, this article however was more balanced.

More interesting to me was the comments section and one thing I noticed was the number of never married 60 year olds who are enjoying life, keep going your own way fellas.

That was the first thing I noticed similar to the Wilcox article, bachelors don’t have to make as much money, both articles say married men work more, like it’s a good thing. First thought he had wrote a revamp but it was written by a woman, perhaps Brad switched genders.

Married men make more BRUTE income, but make LESS NET income. Yeah, the married man has a bigger salary, but after discounting all the money that goes over to cupcake and childs needs and desires and whatnot ( which also includes having to pay for the bills of a BIGGER house and having to pay for MORE food ) , the NET amount of money the man has for himself, his needs and desires is LESS than what a single men gets.

That is not the effect of being single.

But rather: Pumpkins lock on and secure guys (wallets) that make more money.

Pussy gravitates towards Beta’s that earn more.

As opposed to the guys that make less consciously choosing not to pursue a wife.

The single guys that make less money were priced out of the vagina market way before they even had a chance to start window shopping.

Regarding ‘slavery’

At least in the US in the 1800’s a slave on a plantation had a way better deal.

Currently, a guy walking out of family court could walk out with nothing, while owing child support and alimony and he could be sleeping in his car, starving, etc

But at least a slave is provided food, shelter, clothing and medical care by his master.

And on some level, a slave had value. He was an asset and could be sold.

A guy walking out of family court in the US is considered worthless by society. And although he can work and appears to be ‘free’, after working, paying taxes, commuting expenses, insurance, child support, alimony, etc he could have 1% of his income remaining at the end of every month.

Great post Sky-O. We are all free in this society to serve our masters. I have long maintained that slavery is not the wort thing that can befall a human. To be poor and owe your labour to pay debts is far worse. No one regards you as an asset. Today the average man owes much of his labour to pay taxes, then to pay for the services to his house, then to pay the mortgage, then insurances and then to pay for his family or worse his divorce. We are all free to work…

And it could be argued effectively that an actual slave that a master is responsible for (see above) is exploited less than someone that lives in a ‘free’ society.

Because a slave can never owe tens of thousands of dollars in bills for medical care, get evicted and owe back rent and legal fees while being homeless and walk down the street starving while people eat in restaurants along the way with Fiat money they didn’t earn.

A person in a ‘free’ society today (bottom 75%) have no chance of building, real, sustainable wealth or assets. They might be delusional enough to think they can – but objective reality is far different.

A slave at least has the hope of escaping and finding some level of freedom.

I stopped reading at ‘married men make 10-40% more …’.

Even if it were true that married men make 10-40% more, it doesn’t matter. Married men take a 50% cut in after-tax income. SHE owns it as soon as HE earns it. This is written into law, and this is the explanation given to me by a tax attorney when I asked why it is that the IRS does not go after wives of pro athletes and celebrities who get these enormous million dollar payouts in divorce court. His explanation: “The government taxes you on income. It does not tax you on money that is already yours…”.

Let me explain this again for the inattentive: As soon as you are married, SHE OWNS HALF OF EVERYTHING LEFT AFTER TAXES ARE PAID ON THE MONEY YOU EARN, AS SOON AS YOU EARN IT!

You work for it. You earn it. You pay taxes on it. Half of what’s left belongs to her. When she leaves, she will take this unearned money with her. And she will not pay taxes on HER money because YOU already paid those taxes when YOU earned it. It is a misconception that a woman takes a man’s money when she leaves a marriage. A woman takes a man’s money every month on payday, starting as soon as the marriage license is stamped. A married man doesn’t get ripped off in divorce court. He gets ripped off for half his earnings every month on payday. Divorce court is just the arena where it gets explained to him that he’s been getting ripped off every pay since his wedding. Divorce court is not the rip off. It’s just the place where he finds out about it.

Somebody tell me what the hell good does it do to make 10-40% more money if you simultaneously volunteer for a scheme to keep 50% less of it?

Exactly…if I got married next week my company isn’t going to give me a 20% raise or a promotion just for getting married.

For the average person your financial health is typically heavily dictated by what you do in your 20s. Did you do things like get a marketable degree, learn a trade, develop marketable skills, find a job that is actually worthy of calling a career already, and avoid debt and start to invest for the future? If the average marriage age for guys these days is around 30, by the time pumpkin is ready to marry you, odds are you are already established financially, or at least on a good path, and she had nothing to do with it. Its like you just ran a marathon, pumpkin was waiting at the finish line cheering for you, and then tries to claim “We did it!” Wait…what the f~~~ did she do again?

I also think another major aspect these articles always seem to try to slip in under the radar is “single” also includes divorced guys. I’d think lifetime bachelor status is far better for your financial and emotional health than divorced status.

Maybe there are some guys out there who are happy with a certain income level and like their job who get married and all that jazz and the wife nags them into taking a promotion or a different job, at which point they may end up hating their job, having more job related stress, and working more hours…but then are those guys actually happy? Just because you make more money doesn’t always mean you have a better life…sure you don’t want to be broke, but if you are a single dude with no responsibilities making 80k a year or a guy making 100k a year with a wife and kid to support…the guy making 80k is ridiculously better off financially. Let’s just say whenever the topic of 401ks or retirement planning or pretty much anything financial comes up at work its the single/kidless dudes that are all crushing it and the married dudes with kids who are jealous of us…not the other way around.

I think the numbers are much worse, for example buddy of mine works as a dentist, paid for his wife to go to physical therapy school, she doesn’t get a job, he complains to me “I just want her to work a little.” They have 3 kids, he is saddled with her debt and no return on that investment, so basically working to feed 5 people on his dentist income, pay the debt, and oh women love to live the glamorous lifestyle.

He’s screwed, this is a common marriage, it was the life of the dad of my ex-girlfriend who wanted me to be like her father. He was a doctor, with wife and 3 daughters and always in debt. She always said her dad was so unhappy when she was a child. I asked my girlfriend “what are going to do with this degree your working on?” She said “stay home raise three kids and volunteer.” Just like her mom.
