They also do blood tests these days to check for prostate cancer. It tests for prostate specific albumin (PSA).

In US its called DRE digital recital exam. Physician lubes area then inserts gloved finger. Idea is the feel the area surrounding prostate for texture and abnormalities. Blood test for PSA also can be given. Have had many over the years. Not the most pleasant experience but it’s short lived and usually no pain after the exam.

Bro, just get it done. You’ll feel allot better knowing or not what befuddles lye in the dark hole of stinky.

First you drink some s~~~ that makes you s~~~ your brains out (can’t eat anything). Then they they go to town with a glorified seesnake, the whole thing is over in 45 minutes tops! I even let some intern chick watch the procedure, by that time I was feeling pretty raped anyway so why not make a show of it?

I hear ya, Blade. Nobody likes that procedure. I will add this though. Prostate cancer is very slow growing and therefore takes a long time to kill you, if it ever does. There are two things involved here that need to be considered. Firstly, your age. Prostate cancer takes about 20 plus years to fully infect your prostate and MOST men have it when they die but that was not the cause of death. When I was diagnosed, I was 57. Add twenty years and my life expectancy just get shorter. If I contracted it at 65, my life expectancy was 85. That’s all I could expect anyway so I would have chosen to do nothing and let it take it’s course.
Secondly, during this 20 year period, there is a real dangerous of metastases (spreading from the original site to another) For example: prostate to bladder, to kidneys, to testicles. So even though prostate cancer can be handled, the danger is from it spreading.
Realistically, the older you are when diagnosed, the more options you have. Current medical thinking is to get checked starting at age 50. As unpleasant as the digital rectal exam is the alternative could be much worse. So it is a lottery, get checked so you don’t have the Sword of Damocles hanging over you and hope you don’t get diagnosed till you are in your 70’s.

The lube up the ol middle finger and ask you to bend over and pull your pants town while the doc puts on a glove and lubes up . Doc inserts the finger and feels around up in there. There’s a high likelihood you’ll get an involuntary boner while the finger is up in there too just to add to the uncomfortable session.

I think you should ask if they can just do a blood test these days to get all the info they need. But if not, might also ask if they can do a colonoscopy the same day, if you’re butt hole is going to be violated anyways may as well get it all done on the same day and out of the way.
