What happened to Blacks on TV?

I’m white (but prefer the term Human to describe my race). When I grew up I watched shows like What’s happening, The White Shadow (not all black), The Jefferson’s, Sanford and Son, and Good Times. Every week. Yes, I’m that old.

All black casts on black shows dealing with black issues. Some were funny and probably a little racist, but they dealt with black people and their issues. They were gritty but true.

This white guy would vote Good Times as one of the top 10 shows of all time. This white guy would vote Good Times as one of the top 10 shows of all time. Maybe I was too young or dumb to know the difference but I identified with them. When they hurt, I hurt. I didn’t even consider that they were black and I was white (Human).

Now look at black characters on TV and the news. Shows like Cops and the 10pm news. I think that the media made us believe that Black man = criminal.

Criminals are criminals but Honest hard working black men deserve better. I encourage MGTOW men to see beyond skin color. We are all Men.

The only time I ever watch TV is to drown at the noise at my place because I’m still living with my parents. Otherwise, I would never turn on that vile thing.

I also said it before and say it again. I don’t give a s~~~ about ethnicity. What I hate are the social justice warrior f~~~tards such as the black lives matter movement portraying black people to be victims and white people to oppressors.

That’s why I can’t stand modern shows such as How To Get Away With Murder for example. It’s a big heaping pile of feminism and black lives matter bulls~~~.

Shows like Sanford and Son, Fresh Prince of Bel Air, The Cosby Show, etc. We’re great. Compare that with shows like How To Get Away With Murder and you’ll see the propaganda modern TV shows have.

Statistically speaking, blacks comprise only around 13% (approx.) of the US population yet account for about 50% (approx.) of all the violent crime. This is the result of an entire generation of fatherless children growing up in the caring arms of the Gynocratic welfare state. It affects the poor as much, if not more so than everyone else. These poor, useless c~~~s have no skills, prospects or future, so they get money the only way they can. By rutting with baby daddies and living off the state. Then their kid grows up poorer, and worse off than the generation before him, only to continue the cycle.
This is true not just in the US either, it is factually demonstrated everywhere. Black Pigeon Speaks is a Youtuber that did an excellent video piece on populations worldwide. Some people call him a bigot, but I think he does a good job in pointing out that cultural predisposition (if you would call “poverty” a culture, and I would) does more harm then any so called “police racial profiling”. Part of “my way” is not getting caught up in the racial tension that the media tries to stir up. I remember those shows when I was a kid and the Cosby show too. They were funny. There were some “black sitcoms” like Fresh Prince of Belair and Martin after that. Now that there’s BET, I think the major networks don’t try to create black shows. I don’t watch tv so I really don’t know what’s on anymore. Seinfeld was the last sitcom I watched regularly. Now I watch sports and movies on the internet.

I agree with you Jan. We are about the same age , and s~~~ is just going down hill fast. I unplugged from TV a few years ago. There are only so many breaths you get in a lifetime , and I’ll be damned if I waste any of mine watching bulls~~~ TV programming. I agree with your sentiments. Black men HAD to invent MGTOW because of the s~~~ they saw in the 60’s and 70’s…now everyone is getting the same treatment via feminism no matter their color. ALL men are brothers , skin color has nothing to do with it.

I don’t really watch Broadcast Television anymore, or cable really. A few shows from time to time on Netflix, but generally interest media on youtube. My 70″ Tv is used for movies, and video games, by my wife and son, but never for television by anyone in my house.

Whenever you have to ask “what ever happened” dealing with black men just research from 1954 and start from their. Feminism has there lee press-on’s all over this country and will not hold the blame for any of it. People are judged by their looks, no matter what their ethnicity is. I really believe that part of the problems of black people have been discrimination. IF you believe that you cannot do better in life even if trying, why even bother to try?

Attractive black people are treated better than unattractive other ethnicities but in general black have faced more discrimination than other ethnicities.

Yeah I grew up with Good Times. Watched it the other day, found it dated alas.

An all-Black show nowadays would be “blacksploitation” so they don’t dare do it. There’s “Empire” I guess, because, you know, shows about running an empire are more relevant for the average African American family than JJ and his family struggling in the ghetto. Because reasons.
