Sarcasm doesn’t translate into print and this is not the website for it.

It is easier to convey sarcasm in person through tone of voice, but it can be done in print through word choice. It’s just very hard to do well, and people who can’t pull it off really shouldn’t try, because failure at sarcasm gives entirely the wrong message. And it’s almost never worth the effort, because done badly it’s just forum jackassery. That’s why I generally stick to irony, myself.

Maybe it’s just me giving people the benefit of the doubt, but when I read something like: “identify as a metabolically challenged latino woman,” I automatically assume it’s an attempt at hyperbole or sarcasm, because who the f~~~ would actually do that? Admittedly someone probably does somewhere out on the internets, but I don’t go to those websites.

I suspect that you’ll get an email response from this Tiga soon enough. In the meantime, it is probably best to be safe rather than sorry, especially with all the negative attention the forums have been getting lately. Were the forums attacked again recently? Because I remember posting some things a day or so ago that I don’t see here today.

Well, technically I read it as a lame attempt at sarcasm, not actual successful sarcasm, again because it seemed too ridiculous to be taken at face value. Then again, you have stuff like this:

With so many flagrant dumbasses like that who can’t figure out even the basic rules, it’s all that more difficult to distinguish between someone mimicking a dumbass and some of the actual dumbasses we’ve gotten here. It would probably be fairly simple to fake it as a man on these forums, but none of them ever seem manage it. And it’s not like they ever get caught in some subtle error; it’s always some blatant statement like: “As a real woman blah blah blah.”

I suppose that when someone has lived their entire life with the rules always being bent or ignored in their favor, because vagina, they expect even a simple rule like: “No women. No exceptions.” to be ignored for their benefit as well.

I lost any empathy for the fat acceptance movement once I dug a little deeper and found that it is almost all women, and the acceptance that they are after is not to be treated as equal, functioning human beings – but to be treated as beautiful, sexy and attractive on the dating front. Natural urges for that 0.7 hip-waist ratio? Patriarchal and misogynistic social construct!

My empathy for the Fat Acceptance movement broke down completely when I saw that these overweight/obese women still feel entitled to fit, athletic guys who work out and eat healthily. Look at any ‘Love comes in all shapes and sizes’ meme and you’ll see picture after picture of fat women with a slim guy embracing them passionately. They treat overweight MEN with complete disgust and contempt. So much for acceptance!

Of course not. I agree that physical obesity is often a manifestation of several personality defects. But on the other hand, I know plenty of guys who fall into the ‘Fedora neckbeard’ category who are pretty good at their jobs etc. and their love of ‘da burgaz’ has no bearing on that. However, there is a world of difference between a tubby office worker and an unfit police officer/soldier. etc.

I think it’s simply defining what is considered normal downward.

I went into a restaurant a couple of days ago. Every single woman from 18 to 80 was fat or obese as were the majority of men. That same day I viewed some video shot in Russia with a similar number of random people in it. There was not a single fattie in the group.

I have nothing against larger people and have many close friendships with them. I will not be shamed into considering them sexually attractive as the propaganda photos in the montage IWA posted for us illustrate.

I believe that obese women see the benefits that their slimmer, more attractive sisters are getting and want some of that action, too. However, rather than accept responsibility for their bad habits and realize that basic biology is at work (both genders prefer healthier-looking mates to ensure survival of their offspring), they instead blame THE PATRIARCHY™!!!, and try to make us men feel guilty for our physical preferences while they don’t alter theirs.
