What are you doing to better yourself. Tell me what are you doing to better yourself? It doesn’t matter what it is, just that you are doing something. Share so that other men can learn from you. I will start.

I signed up for and am studying for my Ham radio license.

I am reading books on lean manufacturing/ six sigma so I have a back ground in it. I hope to take a class in it someday.

I am pushing myself at work toward going into management. I just took a short term position at work as a supervisor to get me a bit of experience and to show that I’m interested in becoming a full time manager.

    More responsibility and more money.

The extra money will allow me to do more things in life and better save for my son’s future.

Ridding myself of financial burdens any way I can! Destroying credit cards as they’re paid off! I’m preparing for global enslavement from the elites as industry disappears from the landscape. I’m observing a police state being well nourished and empowered to slaughter the bill of rights and abolish the constitution as my this nation is adsorbed into a one world monolithic government, a consortium of absolute despotic control (Carbon tax, NAFTA, Pacific trade) corporations without borders.
I’m cutting everything down to size and no longer willing to run the treadmill for the financial and power gain of others that keep turning up the speed and inclination of their prized contraption (new world order).
I’m watching freedom collapse before my very eyes and maintaining good composure and self control.
I’m watching over three hundred million people absorbed by football FEMball, and the Kardashions while the elites seize control. Standing in my condemned family campground I’m watching the rest of this (once upon a time) republic simply wither and die.
In other words; F~~~ it all! I’m going my own way!
I’m watching the biggest crime in history take place and none of the perpetraitors are ever arrested, their rewarded with more and more control.

Next stop, ARMAGEDDON… I wonder how Kim Kardashion will handle living on a bowl of rice twice a day?

Another thing I am doing is working on minimalism. Some say attachments to stuff is the basis of suffering.

I am down to everything I own will fit into two of my car plus the bed. I want to get it smaller.

I buy everything I can at thrift stores.

I’m searching for a job constantly and have started to lift weights/do more body weight exercises. I’m also re-programming myself to stand most of the day. I heard on quite a few websites that if you sit for more than 3 hours a day, it’s extremely harmful for your health.

I’m also learning different programming languages.

    Jan,

I love all of your posts, but this one should go Top Gun!

I am working on learning a new career, ridding myself of debt, and getting into better shape.

I also practice minimalism. Most of my friends cannot believe how well I do with so little. Separate your actual needs from your wants and clarity will come.

I look forward to reading what other men are doing to improve themselves.

I’m always doing something to better myself, I tend to have goals in each of the following categories (once I achieve something specific I set a new goal):
    1) health
    2) wealth
    3) happiness
I read and learn lots of new things. I exercise. Meditate. Eat healthily.

There is a decent book on the subject titled Scared Sitless. Well worth the read.

Jan, I know you don’t mean it that way, so you’re going to get a nicer response from me than if someone else made your thread.

But in short, a man answers to nobody. We are not disposable utility. We do not “better ourselves” for someone else’s approval. Not women, not other men, not society. We do as we please because it’s what we want to do. We define ourselves, we are as good as we are in our own eyes and that’s all that matters, not someone else’s.

As for me, I too do practice minimalism and I also read a lot. I try to have as many skills as I can, it is AMAZING the breadth of knowledge you can now possess. Your computer or smartphone can hold enough e-books to have previously filled the largest emperor’s library, spanning an entire castle. And now it’s there, for all of us, for free, to be read, taking up no space! What an age to live in!

I have learned that philosophy and electric/woodworking seem to be man’s greatest achievements. There are many different fields available, but those three specifically, along with some other survival skills are amazing, and put you ahead of most of human history and most current people, should you choose to even have a rudimentary knowledge!

Just bought a flash for my camera( cost a lot too). Bought some videos and books on photography. Pre-ordered a trip for a workshop in Canada in July from a famous photographer($899.00). Writing down my goals and what steps I need to do. Bought a fleshlight to cure my hunger for sex best 10 bucks I’ve spent.

    @ Phoenix,

If I have wronged you I am sorry. That was not my intent. I only wanted to generate a list of suggestions, of things Men are doing to better themselves for themselves. Ideas that other men might try to make themselves better. To learn from others. I am sorry.

    @ Boar,

You seem new here. Welcome home brother. I am honored that you think my contributions have value. Not for me, I am old and my time is done. I post here because I have a younger Man relative that deserves to grow up in a better world. To not be a slave.

I’ve achieved many of my self-improvement goals in life — save one. And that is to have my own simple, yet profitable business.

Like many of you guys, I too live a very minimalist life, and I am designing my business to be just as minimal. I don’t need riches and fancy cars, but I do need better control of my time and a better income. So I’m opening a store on my blog.

I’ll sell products that compliment the topic (a narrow but large niche in home-improvement). And while you might think that I’m going to be stuck shipping orders every day, and therefore not have control of my time, then get this: I’ve found a local fulfillment company that will handle all of the shipping and returns. All of them!

My blog already has a large and loyal readership, so I don’t have to spend a dime on advertising. Last year I had over 1.5 million page views and about 500,000 uniques. I have my product supplier all lined up and the margins look good. I’m about a month away from launch, and I can not wait to see what happens! In my perfect world, I’ll be able to leave my s~~~ty desk job by Christmas.

Had I not discovered MGTOW and binged on the personal stories you guys share, I would not have had the focus and energy to get as far as I have. Sometimes being an optimist can be a fault. And now that I’m no longer searching for that special, sugar-frosted cupcake unicorn, I can focus on important things. Life is so much simpler now. Calmer. Thank you!

I will continue to do my own thing. I’m not sure if that means I’m bettering myself in some way, but as simple as my life may be, I believe I have reached the pinnacle of where I’m happiest.

Women are so bad, if they changed the law so I kept the house, I still wouldn't marry one. I'd rather be homeless.

unfortunately, not a whole lot, besides spending hours consuming red pills and posting to this board.
the reality is that I became extremely lazy and unmotivated. I am also a master procrastinator. With a slight drinking problem.
I am happy for all you guys, but I can’t show for much myself.
I want to change and I will, but this wallowing in my basement by a computer screen has been going on for years now. I cannot say I’m depressed. I’m just enjoying simple comforts and staying out of trouble.
There is a certain self-hate I have developed though, which is not very constructive, since it doesn’t push me onto bigger and better things in life.
I have sudden bursts of enthusiasm, but it’s very short lived.
I am only 36 but I live a life of a very old man pretty much.
Many probably see me as a loser, but I know that it’s not the case, and I don’t care what they think.
Something died inside of me since my short-lived marriage affair, and I don’t seem to find strength or reason to bounce back to life.
I just have to reinvent my motivational system from scratch and it’s taking a while.
Maybe years on adderall and xanax took its toll on my brain harder than it did on others, but it’s just a hypothesis. But I’ve decided I am never going back on this s~~~ ever again just to boost my productivity and energy levels. There must be some other way
Thanks for listening, I had to vent this out

No one here will ever see you as a loser. Remember it takes incredible strength and character to go MGTOW.
