I hear a lot of women say they value a good relationship. They want a man to love them for who they are on the inside—not just for their physical qualities. So why can’t they love a man the same way? I mean: love a man for his character traits—not just for the money in his bank account. That kind of love seems righteous to me. But in reality: people aren’t going to be the way you think they should be.

When I watched this video, this question came to my mind: Why couldn’t this woman marry this guy because she loves him, and he loves her? Yes, you need money/resources to make a marriage functional—and the man she married was able to provide her with a decent lifestyle—but it seems to me that a mutual feeling of admiration, and a sharing of values would be a better foundation for a marriage than wealth—because wealth can be obtained later on with steady work, savings, and wise investments.

The woman featured in the video lives in Nigeria—a country with a 53% poverty rate (according to World Bank). So she should be super grateful, on a daily basis, to be living with ANY man who can provide her with food, water, and shelter.

"I saw that there comes a point, in the defeat of any man of virtue, when his own consent is needed for evil to win-and that no manner of injury done to him by others can succeed if he chooses to withhold his consent. I saw that I could put an end to your outrages by pronouncing a single word in my mind. I pronounced it. The word was ‘No.’" (Atlas Shrugged)
