There has been a spate of celebrity deaths recently, Lemmy, then Bowie, then Alan Rickman and last week Terry Wogan ( famous in UK ). All men, all died of cancer.

This prompted me to do some digging to see if I could find the amount of research spending on cancers by type.

This is what I have found so far; all figures in millions estimated spending in 2016.

    Breast Cancer research $704
    Cervical Cancer research $119
    Total $823

    Prostate Cancer research $262
    Testicular Cancer research Not listed.
    Total $262

I do not know why testicular cancer is not listed when conditions such as Batten Disease, Rett Syndrome and Tourette Syndrome are all present and correct. Could it be that NIH does no research into testicular cancer at all?

Anyway, simple fact; female only cancers receive 314% of the funding that male only cancers receive. That will be the f~~~ing patriarchy at work again.

I have serious doubts about the efficacy of cancer treatments in general. Radiation and chemical c~~~tails? It’s possible that it helps some cancers in some people. I have a suspicion that it also kills and maims a lot more people that they don’t tell people about. I don’t think I would do anything for cancer except smoke pot if I ever got it. There’s things like internally scarred eye tissue that causes blindness that people don’t mention along with hair loss and nausea.
Is it possible that men would not go along with the expensive treatments the same way women would? Men don’t take doctors’ word as gods’ word. We know that. We are constantly shamed for not partaking in more proactive health care like women do. Women, however, go to the doctor and take medicine for everything. Those stats may just reflect that reality.

Very true. The figures quoted are for research funding, not for actual treatment costs. I specifically looked up the research figures as actual treatment costs may be skewed in favour of women as they visit the doctor far more regularly than men do.

Its interesting you say you would just smoke weed if you ever got cancer as there is evidence that certain cannabinoids in some strains of cannabis have powerful cancer fighting properties.

If my doctor told me I was at risk for testicular cancer, I’d get my nuts cut off just like Angeline Jolie. She’s such an inspiration. Wait, what am I saying… I don’t have a doctor.

Honestly, how many of you guys go to see a doctor on a regular basis to get your b~~~~ fondled and butt probed out of fear of cancer? Maybe I’m the fool here but I suspect it’s not many.

all the “research” money I suspect goes toward building new shiny oncology clinics than towards actual research.
medical industry is great for making people sick and then taking all of their hard earned cash away trying to cure them. oncology is the sacred cash cow so big, that there is NO incentive to change anything at all.

I don’t know what I would do if I got cancer. But I do have to wonder about the negative effects of chemo and nuclear medicine though.

I’m a firm believer in commercial drugs doing more harm than good. I’m a bit fringe, due to my upbringing, but there you have it.

Cancer is just something to rake your finances away as you slowly wither away. Nearly everything can cause cancer these days it seems, it’s quite sad that so much s~~~ is bad for you in a modern society.

Promoting eating healthy and exercising can’t be stressed enough and clearly isn’t reaching enough people when majority of the U.S, Canada, Mexico and probably Europe are either considered overweight or obese.

We really could use some MGTOW men making companies of complete 101% natural f~~~ing products that don’t have hormones, or chemicals, or pesticides in them that are safe for human consumption because almost no big time corporations have any morality to doing anything except making money.

In terms of cancer research men are second class citizens so of course theirs less money going to it then for woman. Breast cancer is a leading killer to woman because they have almost nothing else that threatens them from living a full long life. Just Heart conditions, brain conditions, lung disease (for smokers) and that’s pretty much it.

As far as I know most of the cancer research does not even aim to cure the cancer, but merely stop it from spreading due to the nature of disease. In today’s society I would really doubt if drug companies would allow a cure for cancer to be found since treatment brings in huge money already.

Also I do not believe all the research out there is actually used to help people anyway. Processed meat was declared by WHO to be a type 1 carcinogen (like cigarettes), but “prominent” doctors just dispose off over 800 studies and a serious report on the subject in the blink of an eye and advice “moderation” which makes me lose my faith in the research in this field:

I personally avoid stress, follow a vegan diet and exercise regularly while refraining from alcohol, drugs and cigarettes completely. I do not plan to live forever, it just makes me and my body happy and I think reduces my chances to get cancer. I used to be an alcoholic for quite a while and a heavy smoker of 9 years, so I decided to live a clean life and respect myself.

Even if I fail to avoid cancer, I will be a healthy and fit man until the last day of my life and never have to depend on someone else. I don’t think I would even get any treatment if I got it, or even get diagnosed for it since I extremely rarely go see a doctor anyway.
