I’m watching the film The Matrix tonight.
I haven’t seen it for at least 15 years. Most certainly I didn’t understand any of its meanings the first time around.
I did a module at Uni about Film and Media studies. Signs and Semiotics. Taught me to analyse the media and what messages were being represented in the work. I liked the “Mise en Scene” idea that everthing in a scene, all props right down to the decor and ornaments of a room were put there carefully to present an image of the character and their outlook on life. It kinda spoiled my enjoyment of film and TV as I was always analysing what message the director was trying to subliminally convey.
The Matrix is a masterwork of hidden meaning. If you’re eyes are open you get it.
Take the Red Pill 🙂
It's Time to get Wise
Now you’re a mgtow you will enjoy it more . Like it is different. Watched the whole series about a month ago .
THE PLANTATION HAS NOW TURNED INTO THE KILLING FIELDS . WOMAN ARE NOW ROLLING CAMBODIAN STYLE .
The only film I can watch repeatedly without getting bored.
Δεν υπάρχει τίποτε αδύνατο γι’ αυτόν που θα προσπαθήσει. - Μέγας Αλέξανδρος
I think some of the film scenes were very interesting. It seems like every scene and the objects have some metaphorical interpretation. I like the scene where the blue pill and the red pill are reflected in Morpheus’ sunglasses.
"I saw that there comes a point, in the defeat of any man of virtue, when his own consent is needed for evil to win-and that no manner of injury done to him by others can succeed if he chooses to withhold his consent. I saw that I could put an end to your outrages by pronouncing a single word in my mind. I pronounced it. The word was ‘No.’" (Atlas Shrugged)
Anonymous24THX 1138 is a much better look at breaking away from an oppressive overlord/ruler/socialist dystopian nightmare. George Lucas’s first film, and a similar theme in his Star Wars movies as well.
The Matrix is about Choices and Consequences. Only the few who have seen the Matrix for what it really is are strong enough for the red pill.
I only own eight movies, and “The Matrix” is one of them. And even though I watch it about once a month I never get tired of it.
