Hey, are there any other members attending either the Uranium Springs or Wasteland Weekend events this year who might like to put together a camp?

I went to Wasteland last year and have a fair amount of experience with desert camping and would be happy to combine forces or share my experience with other members who are interested in attending these events.

I had no idea what these were until I looked them up. Looks like a lot of fun. I am a huge fan of the original Mad Max trilogy, and it looks like I am not the only one…

I haven’t done it, but a good friend has. I almost went with him to Death Valley 2 weeks ago where 11 guys on motorbikes went for the weekend. I saw the photos and they are incredible.

I don’t have a motorbike (yet?) but the reason I didn’t go is because they were planning on going on gravel for 20 miles, and nearly all of them fell off or tipped the bikes here and there. I don’t like kicking rocks up under my car and didn’t want to put stone chips all over it, so when they said they were taking the gravel road, I opted out.

(this is also why I mentioned Vegas as possibility to you recently)

One day maybe next year I would be SO down for that Death Vallery camping overnight. The pictures (of the evening sky) were unbelievable and I haven’t slept under an open sky like that or baked beans over a flame in a long time, so I’m jelz.

If you keep doing what you've always done... you're gonna keep getting what you always got.

Let me tell you, there are few things more spectacular, more majestic and more perspective giving than looking up at the sky in the dead dark of the desert and seeing the span of the galaxy above you.

Camping, it’s just about water, food and shelter… easy stuff. But staring into the night sky… that takes real fortitude. Whether it’s a festival or a weekend with friends or just a drive out to the dark spaces for a quick overnight, there are few experiences that can move a man’s soul more than a dark night sky.

Any time you guys are ready to come to Nevada and see it, I’ve got you.

Doc, you got that right. I’m a hardcore, desert rat who must make do with living in Metro Detroit — for now. The seven years I lived in Arizona were the best seven years of my life. Every chance I got I went backpacking in the Arizona and Utah Wilderness Areas. Hell, I even got to live on the border of the Aravaipa Canyon Wilderness. The nights in the desert are the stuff dreams are made of!

I just picked up a new bivy sack for my fair weather desert trips. And when I get back out that way, I’d love to do a backpacking trip with a few MGTOW guys. That would be a blast!
