    Sensationalistic bulls~~~.

Go rent “Pandora’s Promise” and develop an informed opinion of nuclear power.

They also had a High level radioactive wast tank rupture into it’s containment area, the tanks are from WWII the ruptured tank was pumped out but what about the remaining tanks in the same condition?

Columbia river along with the Savanna river have radioactive isotopes in them including but not limited to PL-239. (don’t walk in the mud and don’t eat shell fish from these rivers downstream waters!

I live within 20 miles. The facility is old, was hastily built, and is falling apart. It is essentially a massive cleanup operation. A lot of it is going into a giant enclosed pit. I can tell you this is not the worst that has happened out there, but the media likes to scare people because it sells things, gets “likes”, or whatever they are trying to accomplish…and create conspiracy…I don’t believe much from them anymore.

I am not worried if that means anything. All 3 rivers here have excellent fishing btw.

    Hanford farted.
Given that the most toxic s~~~ ever invented by man is stored there as waste products when the USA was in full “make more nukes” mode, a serious poot from that place is not something I would be sniffing the air for.

This is the news from ZeroHedge 10th Mau 2017. Refer to Tower’s excellent post above.

    http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-05-10/emergency-crews-begin-work-collapsed-nuclear-facility-tunnel

Emergency workers have begun work to stabilize and fill a 20-foot-by-20-foot opening over a tunnel that partially collapsed near the PUREX facility at the Hanford Site. Non-essential employees remain offsite.

In the 1950s and 1960s two tunnels were constructed next to a former chemical processing plant, the Plutonium Uranium Extraction Plant, or PUREX, located in an industrial area near the center of the Hanford Site called the 200 East Area. The tunnels were constructed of wood and concrete and covered with approximately 8 feet of soil. The tunnels were constructed to hold rail cars that were loaded with contaminated equipment and moved into the tunnels during the Cold War.

During a routine surveillance of the area this morning, a 20-foot-wide hole in the roof of one of the tunnels was observed, leading to the precautionary sheltering of employees and notifications to area counties and states. After no contamination was detected, the shelter in place order was lifted and employees were sent home from work early as a precaution. Workers continue to monitor the area for contamination as a crew prepares to fill the hole with clean soil.

The approximately 360-foot-long tunnel where the partial collapse occurred contains 8 rail cars loaded with contaminated equipment. That tunnel feeds into a longer tunnel that extends hundreds more feet and contains 28 rail cars loaded with contaminated equipment. The hole opened up in the shorter tunnel near where it joins the longer tunnel. The tunnels were sealed in the mid-1990s and are checked periodically.

And now one of them has collapsed…

PS: I heard that Homer Simpson is in charge of the repair efforts but this cannot be confirmed.

That is the story, but what really happened.

Just bad workmanship and ignoring safety issues because they cost too much. Usually when you have a mined shaft there are inspections needed to ensure settlement and cave-ins do not occur especially with groundwater. There are a number of technical reasons why this happens. Apparently no one was bothered to do any mandatory safety checks. The paperwork will say they did though.

It isn’t a nuclear plant. It’s a nuclear waste facility. They’ve been in the news before for having leaking tanks and for workers getting sick there. There was actually a no fly zone declared there because of the cloud. I saw a report on youtube about it. It doesn’t surprise me.

    Not exactly.

An underground mining tunnel which was used to transport uranium in the 40s/50s collapsed. No radiation escaped the property line of the area so no risk to surrounding areas and no people working there were hurt.

Guess I shouldn’t swim in the Columbia anymore. When my third eye comes in I hope i have better eyesight haha.
All joking aside we are all well aware here that we aren’t told everything. The tour the DOE puts on is outstanding if you ever get to go. Even get to go into the b reactor. They talk about the transport tunnels that have the equipment in them but the higher priority of cleanup is the sand, groundwater, and waste tanks. Most tanks the material in them is unknown. It’s mostly centrifuge waste.
Hell all navy sub, carrier, and the old cruiser reactors are stored out here in a pit. Served on those for 20 years. I figure if I die of cancer I’ll know why.

It is a massive hoax, since nukes are fake how can nuclear waste be a threat?

The fishing is GREAT, no 3 eyed fish, that’s all Simpson’s nuke hoax BS.

$2 billion a year goes into that project, if it wasn’t for that and the prisons in the area their would be nothing to support the economy.. except for maybe car sales

    What a joke
