Hey guys, I currently started making a game with one of my long-time buddies, and we wanted to get some opinions on the product’s ability to sell once it’s done. One of my old professors has a board game that he made called “Warp!”, and we’re making it a digital game. It’s like a lot of perfect strategy games like chess and checkers where the player’s know everything by looking at the board (nothing is up to chance). The objective of the game is to move your eight pieces to the other side of the board. Each tile on the board has arrows on it that tell you which ways you can move when you’re on that tile. you can take your opponents pieces much like in chess by landing on the same space as that piece.

We plan on adding local and networked multiplayer, single player, and a board creator so that people can create their own boards. We plan on making this game entirely within the next 15 or so weeks, so we wanted to figure out how people feel about it before we decide to commercialize it.

I guess this will just be a kind of update thread where I’ll post pics and progress and such. Maybe some polls if this forums supports it.

For now, here’s an example board:

The link gives a 403 forbidden error, also have you made other games before?

Apologies for the link, it was uploaded to someone else’s Google Docs and I didn’t notice it was set to private. I’ll download it and reup it somewhere else.

And yes, I have made a few games before (about 4 or 5 I would be confident in showing off), but nothing that I ever sold commercially. That’s kinda why I wanna get a feel for the commercialibility behind this game since it’s something new for both my buddy and I.
