As far as funding and supporting terrorist cells, Saudi Arabia and Iran are the top dogs. Iran isn’t a scapegoat like Iraq was. I am not worried about the U.S. going to war with Iran. This is likely not going to happen. Iran has its strings pulled by Russia. And Russia does not want a war with the U.S.

Iran will bitch, moan, explode a few bombs, and fire a few missiles in their territory. But, Iran is not going to do anything without permission from Russia.

Russia is making money hand over fist with their natural gas sales to Europe. Russia does not want that to change.

The whole point of the Syrian war to oust Assad is to get pipelines placed through Syria to Europe to replace Russia with Middle Eastern nations as the natural gas supplier for Europe.

If one reads between the lines Russia is trying to keep China from starting a conflict with the U.S.

This whole attempt by China to annex the South China Sea. This is why China is building those military islands in a ring on the southern part of the South China Sea. China taking full control of the South China Sea will start an Indochina war between China and its surrounding nations, with likely the U.S. and other nations being pulled in. Too many nations rely on the South China Sea for economic survival.

China is always showing interest in a small volcanic depression right under the water where the Yellow Sea meets the East China Sea. This is almost the center of the Sea of Japan where China, South Korea and Japan are located. China likely plans to try to turn that into a military outpost to control the area. This would hurt South Korea and Japan. And this could start a war.

The canary in the coal mine for any major war from China will be North Korea.

Much like Russia pulls the strings of Iran. China pulls the strings of North Korea.

China has made North Korea the heavily armed sick man of southeast Asia. This was done to use North Korea to keep the western influenced nations of the region on their toes.

Should China try any military action on a large scale, China will first reign in North Korea. North Korea is to much of a wild card even for China to risk. It is likely the first major military action for China will be officially annexing North Korea into China. Though, this could be done quietly. After that, expect China to become much more militaristic in their foreign affairs.
