When it comes to video games or any other hobby you might partake, it is only a waste of time if you feel your time could be better spent elsewhere. That decision is solely up to you. I play video games as well and feel that the time spent is just fine as I am not out spending money. Short answer is, hey it could be worse.

Precisely. Just show them this they don’t deserve a better response. They could have asked it in a nicely manner such as “Why do you play so much video games?”, which can be perfectly countered with “The same reason you spend so much time doing <insert anything here, that she does for a long time>. See where this is going?”. Once bitching or pointless/non-logical arguing starts after this, you know you have the wrong person. Waste not one more minute with them because you waste your time doing so.
Either they accept you the way you are and respect your interests or they can go and find somebody else to manipulate.

Video games can be addictive, and therefore I often find myself regretting some of the time and effort I spent playing rather then doing something else that I might get more out of. It’s not that it has no value, just that I want to play games while I could get better value elsewhere.

For example, I may find myself playing some new game for 6 hours straight, skipping going to the gym, paying bills, washing the car, or something else that I wanted to accomplish that day.

If that’s what she means by waste of time, fine. However, if she means that my time would be better spent on her or improving myself to her liking, then she misunderstand what’s valuable to me.

This is the thing that blue pill men, PUAs and women all have in common. Since all three groups are obsessed with sex and define men by female validation, none of these three groups can understand why anybody would do anything other than that and so seek to mock it and insult it, thereby raising their own activities.
