I don’t want this to be considered advertising, but here we go.

There was a post on the forums about Vic Mignogna, a voice actor, being fired from the place he primarily works at because of numerous sexual assault allegations. There are many people who believe he has being unfairly treated. Here’s the campaign. He needs a defense, because this stupid s~~~ has to stop before it ruins even more lives than he already has. This needs to be spread around.

Because political witchhunts like this is not widely known outside of the small communities that pay attention.

By the way, VM is doing the right thing. He is using lawsuits to handle the matter.

The Anime/Manga companies in question do not have a lot of money for legal fees. These companies will likely settle with him and the matter will hopefully be settled before the feminists can destroy anime like they did with games with their witchhunt gamergate.

That is not being an asshole. That is simply being petty.

Being an asshole is hoping that VM’s lawsuit goes forward and drags on to allow the feminists create their “animegate”, like “gamergate”, which causes the anime/manga industry is financially gutted and destroyed, putting hundreds of thousands of people out of work, and upsetting tens of millions of more people due to them losing access to their anime/manga hobby.

What?

He isn’t being convicted of anything. He’s being accused of something and his career opportunities are going in shambles. No evidence is given. The accusers have no intention of putting him in jail or anything like that.

Being a fan of Dragon ball this popped up on my radar when it happened. I’ve seen a few things floating around the net which included a picture of him hugging a female fan (with her face blurred out) and the accompanying message said that he was too aggressive or some s~~~. However, after that the woman in the picture actually came forward with that same photo, her face un-blurred, and said that she was the cosplayer and he was nothing short of a gentleman when they hugged and got the picture took.

One other thing seems to be going around is that the real reason all this started is that he refused to sign someone’s Yaoi (Gay Romantic) Fanart. Social Justice Warrior mobs have leaked into and infected the anime and gaming communities the same way they did with comic books. This is the only thing they know, screech loud with false accusations until everyone they hate is “gone” and they can get their “safe inclusive space” which is just code for “no straight white masculine men allowed”.

Last thing: the dub of Dragonball Z is horrible. In the old days of the late 90’s and early 2000’s it was the only thing we had, but if you go back and watch the original Japanese with the most direct translation subtitles you’ll see that the characters are vastly different in personality. One big change is them making Vegeta more sympathetic and loving toward Bulma, the mother of his son, while in the original Japanese version he doesn’t really give a s~~~ at all 99% of the time. They also put unnecessary political BS in their dubs, such as Prison School mentioning the GamerGate thing that happened around four to six years ago.

When it comes to anime, always go sub.

LEARN JAPANESE. It’s easy to understand it, and hard to speak. BUT IMPOSSIBLE TO WRITE.

Learning a NEW language does not hurt you or take up used space in your brain. There is PLENTY of empty space in the Language region. Hell, most people only now 1/10 of the words in English. If nothing else, Buying car parts for your JDM ride gets a lot cheaper.

I disagree. There are a lot of good english dubs, including the Full Metal Alchemist english dubs. Edward Elric was even voiced by Vic Mignogna and he did a good job.

Besides, DVD solved the dub/sub/raw debate with audio and subtitle selections.

I should have worded myself better because I do agree with you that FMA (at least Brotherhood which is what I watched) did have a good dub. My concern now though is Funimation injecting unnecessary political based opinions (such as the GamerGate line in Prison School) into future dubs of anime. Which is why now I will stick to subs as long as Funi is behind the dubbing.

Wait, so just because FUNimation has over 90% of the anime, now I need to stop watching it? I’m not going to watch s~~~ like The Walking Dead just so I can feel good that I’m not throwing money at FUNimation. Sure, it’s f~~~ed up, but I still need entertainment.

Since I can’t seem to edit my last post, I want to add that if you stop supporting the official release of these products because of Monica Rial and the rape circus surrounding Vic Mignogna, then you’re hurting the Japanese creator(s) for something completely outside of his/her/their control. Plus, they only potentially rewrite dialogue for the English dub, so just set the audio language to Japanese and you won’t here the FUNimation dub-isms. This isn’t like when 4Kids was dubbing One Piece and the only release was edited, dubbed only.
