Hi everyone! I did a quick search about these two topics to see if they were already covered and I don’t believe they were, so here goes. I’m currently in my 20’s, have an emphasis on Buddhist philosophy, practice a plant-based diet for ethical/health reasons and am also starting a career as a nurse. I just finished reading “The Manipulated Man” by Esther Vilar today and I’d like to pose three questions.
1) If women have an emphasis on selfish and narcissistic qualities and think less rationally than men, why are there more women following a plant-based diet than men, what are your thoughts?
My suggestion would be either that the smarter ones are focused on their image, so will do it for superficial reasons, though most women I’ve talked to would rather try fad diets or eating disorders (illogical). Or that being emotional, child-like adults, some may still harbor extreme emotional discomfort at the thought of animals suffering and do it for ethical reasons. However, I’ve found that most women choose a vegetarian (dairy/eggs/fish) lifestyle, which they will portray as ethical, without doing the actual research to see it being just as unethical.2) As a male nurse, we are extremely outnumbered by the opposite sex. Nursing is by no means an easy field and it comes with stresses that many more masculine/difficult jobs do not experience, such as children with cancer, deaths in the family, car wrecks leaving bodies mangled and burned, emergency codes where the difference between life and death is seconds etc.. Why is it that so many females throughout history and to this day take up this mantle? Is it some kind of error in the system? In school we read that women who chose this career path in the past, had to give up the family life and dedicate themselves to this selfless cause. So I wonder, if the high number of female nurses shadowing male nurses is just a cultural thing, or do you believe there are other reasons, such as the chance to meet a doctor, or the callous nature of women to deal with nursing stresses while at the same time absorbing all of the drama in the healthcare realm. I should note that now that nursing is looked higher upon, males have started flooding the field and are actually in great demand. Most likely due to any of the reasons MGTOW has suggested in regards to why males are preferred over females.
3) This relates to the questions above. Do you guys think that there are certain fields or philosophies that women harbor that might increase their likelihood of being a NAWALT? I can imagine that a female that dedicates her life to a career path surrounded by selflessness and a dietary lifestyle of compassion might be indicative of a potential NAWALT status.
First of all welcome to MGTOW.com.
Being a vegetarian for 3 years and turned Vegan this year:
1) Women are mostly focused on celebrity lives and culture. Fad diets and such. Milk or the lactose specifically causes breast cancer in females due to the antibiotics and hormones they give to cows to keep them lactating after their forced pregnancy. (Ref. To the China Study)
2) Nursing is widely considered a humanitarian field. “Murses” are still an underrepresented field since the workforce is widely female. It can still be charitable however if you are being paid handsomely (i.e union nurses or flight evacs) this strikes as somewhat antithetical to the actual compassionate act of taking care of someone’s health. Ditto to $200k+ a year private doctors are or the celebrity doctors out on TV who pedal their own profitable products (*Dr. oz, stork). Health related career fields are always expanding due to its ability to weather recessions and more people In the world=more sick patients.
3) Beware of finding your unicorn in your field. I have dated nurses who give all their work shift and run out of patience once they clock out and deal with you. Just because they take care of patients at $60-80 an hour doesn’t mean they will be an angel to you for free. It’s just a job to most people..
I’m saving up money to study and my end goal is becoming a nurse anesthetist. Does this mean I have high empathy and a caring personality, to use your paragraph 2?
My reasons for going that way is simply put that I believe society will be collapsing in my lifetime and I need a “safe” job that not easily can be outsourced to China, and I’m a typical guy; I like gadgets. Besides; I get to work with the best sort of ‘customers’; the non-speaking, non-hearing ones (at least to a degree). Does this make me a morally higher standing individual?Do you guys think that there are certain fields or philosophies that women harbor that might increase their likelihood of being a NAWALT?
No, I do not.
Society asks MGTOWs: Why are you not making more tax-slaves?
Welcome. I’d say the pay is attracting males into the profession, as is the job security. Typically it’s thought of as a ‘caring profession’. A lot of nurses are VERY hard working, and floor nurses, are on their feet all day. In my experience the best nurses are at hospitals, very professional and hard working. At the same time, I’ve seen wide variations in care — e.g. at nursing homes, where it’s the opposite, all the women together at the nursing station gossiping and not checking on patients as frequently as one would expect. A lot of those are nursing aids. One reason health care is too expensive is nurses aren’t allowed to perform a lot of procedures and nursing aids even fewer.
And I would say there are more NAWALTS in some places, e.g. serving up food at soup kitchens, building homes for Habitat for Humanity, etc — and not so many at the Lexus dealer and Macy’s. If a woman makes a s~~~load of money and still lives modestly, chances of NAWALT are much higher, for instance, than if they are super consumers… And no, I’m not on a NAWALT-hunt.
If women have an emphasis on selfish and narcissistic qualities and think less rationally than men, why are there more women following a plant-based diet than men, what are your thoughts?
Right off the bat you’re mixing “apples and oranges”. What does a “plant-based-diet” have to do with “selfish and narcissistic qualities and think less rationally’?
As a male nurse, we are extremely outnumbered by the opposite sex. Replace female with male and nurse with doctor. Same issue, right? A moot point and therefore non debatable question. It simply “is what it is”, to use the worst saying in modern history.
Do you guys think that there are certain fields or philosophies that women harbor that might increase their likelihood of being a NAWALT?
A NAWALT is subjective, but we do agree they are as rare as unicorns. But you will never know they are really AWALT’s unless you go through the “couple” process with them. The whole AWALT/NAWALT concept is subjective as well. That means there is only one way to find out….the hard way. This site is here for those who went that route as well as those trying to avoid it, but the reality is “going your own way” is just that.
Good luck in Nursing. From what I understand it is a tough field and in high demand. Keep coming back for your daily red pill doses and things will start to “click”.
Philosophy, the female repellent
OP,
Each of your points/questions confuses causality with correlation. Just because two things correlate does NOT mean a causal relationship exists between them.
Right off the bat you’re mixing “apples and oranges”. What does a “plant-based-diet” have to do with “selfish and narcissistic qualities and think less rationally’?
I couldnt have said this better myself and Im so glad you did so succinctly.
Why would not eating meat be equivollent to being less self centered and more intelligent? Most people who scream from the hilltops they “dont eat meat” are doing it for self serving, sanctimonious reasons. They in fact ARE narcisissts. Reminds me of Ellen Degenerous. Shes a self proclaimed vegan out of “concern and care” for animals. Well, it just came out her new shoe line includes LEATHER. LMFAO. So much for care and concern. SELF SERVING SANCTIMONIOUS SWINERY.
Oh, and if you didnt pick up on it: I eat meat with EVERY meal.
NURSES:
For women, its similair to becoming a hair stylist or a waitress: fast, easy, cash. I say this because what other job can you get that pays a similair amount of money from attending TWO YEARS AT A JUNIOR COLLEGE? NONE.
Nurses as Caring:
Most people in the health care industry are the most calloused and cold I have ever met. I cant blame them. They deal with death and suffering DAILY. If they didnt develop a tolerance to it they couldnt do their jobs.
That said, I watched nurses throw my mother (dying of cancer) around like a rag doll when moving her to different beds. Zero care or compassion as she cried “your hurting me”.
Resident cynic.

Anonymous5This is what the most famous woman nurse of all had to say, Florence Nightingale; She dealt with them on the job all her life.
Although much of Nightingale’s work improved the lot of women everywhere, Nightingale was of the opinion that women craved sympathy and were not as capable as men. She criticised early women’s rights activists for decrying an alleged lack of careers for women at the same time that lucrative medical positions, under the supervision of Nightingale and others, went perpetually unfilled. She preferred the friendship of powerful men, insisting they had done more than women to help her attain her goals, writing: “I have never found one woman who has altered her life by one iota for me or my opinions.
WikipediaThanks for all of the comments everyone. Also I appreciate the clarity. You definitely made many good points about the nursing field not being selfless. I suppose I even drank the coolaid when I was in school because they really do indoctrinate you with that idea. As for the vegan points, I’m not going to get into it with that because we would have different opinions but I do agree that many do it as a way to flaunt their achievement while they probably eat burgers in the closet. But I did hear about Ellen Degeneres being a hypocritical individual. I would imagine that most people in show biz are are quite narcissistic.
@ Ancient Wisdom, you made a good comment about most people in the health care industry being callous and cold. I’ve definitely seen that and I’ve also had to find ways to separate myself from things as well. Also, I’m sorry to hear about your experience with your mother. They try to put in guidelines to improve patient safety and care, but it does not reach all realms unfortunately…

That was an awesome quote. They definitely did not mention that in class when we studied her.
