I just returned from El Salvador for a training camp/vacation combo. I’ve never done a longer (10 day) trip like this alone and it was a pretty amazing experience. Meeting new people and outside of training being able to do whatever I wanted was very nice. We trained jiu-jitsu for 6-9 hours a day and I surfed every day at sunrise for a couple of hours also. I also slept for 10-12 hours every night lol.
Two couples were there and observing them just reinforced my decision to GMOW. With one couple the guy owns an MMA gym and is a writer also. He discussed that after a 2-3 years of marriage now his wife (much younger at 23) is dissatisfied with his writing since it takes so much alone time and doesnt provide “good returns”. Ugh, can you imagine being a successful business owner and cool guy and having a 23 yr. old trying to change you. No way.
The other couple had divorce written all over them. Constant low level sniping at each other even though both seemed ok when apart. Married 6 months…. NO WAY.
It took a couple of days to adapt to the intense training, heat, humidity and general pace but once I dropped some stress it was awesome. I’m considering a ten day silent vipassana retreat this year and this trip strengthened my resolve to do it even though it’s just me going. Also, i plan on doing many more short trips to places now alone. That has really been my last hurdle with MGTOW. I like vacationing with someone but now I realize I can really enjoy the ones by myself as well.
Those are the ones I’ve always enjoyed the most. Even in my bluest pill days I still preferred being alone or in a group of strangers while traveling. Being in familiar company, even if pleasant, robs some of the feeling of experiencing new places, people and sensations.
The answer is NO. “I could but I won’t”. Memini murum!
Some of the best scenarios that I have seen happens when a couple argue and the man looks at you like FML.
How is El Salvador? Good food for vegetarians/fish eaters? Cheap pu$$y and beer?
I think traveling with someone that you enjoy time with would be a great experience.
However in the limited times that I have traveled with a female friend it was always strained at best. Drama and aggravation were the norm.
Found out that for the most part If I ever wanted to see anything it had to be on my own. Otherwise it was always a pain in the ass.
One thing that sucks on foreign trips is that you can end up being a target because you are alone (and American). Easy pickings for the vultures. Always keep that in mind wand watch your back.
Yes, few years ago I really needed to get away so I just packed a bag and started driving. I spent awhile in Oklahoma, City and most of a week in Dallas and Richardson just enjoying the city. I visited relatives in Port Arthur and then drove to New Orleans.
As somewhat of a movie buff; I thought it would be fun looking for some film locations on my way home.. Across Lake Pontchartrain, I spent a day searching for locations that were used in the movie Live and Let Die. Asking around, I found several spots used in the movie between Slidell and Madisonville, Louisiana. These were some of the areas shown during the black jet boat chase in the film. I also found the wooden bridge and the dock at the end of the chase.
On my way home I drove through Selmer, Tennessee looking for locations used in the movie Walking Tall part 2. I soon learned that much of the filming was actually done in the nearby town of Henderson, just north of Selmer. There is a beautiful old courthouse in Henderson that was used. I visited the building where the courtroom scene was done and sat in the judge’s chair that was in the movie. I found the white house where Buford’s parents lived. I also found the exact spot where the deputy Obra had the collision with the truck as his car accelerates. After all this time, remnants of the wooden scaffolding that held the camera crew were still seen along side the marshy highway right-of-way. There was still some evidence on the sidehills where the stunt drivers drove up along the hillside when they staged the brakes failing and the collision. A nearby resident showed the sidehills and the spot and explained where it happened. He also pointed out where the wooden camera scaffolding was located. I found the stockyard where the scene with the Pardee Camaro took place along with the building where the hospital scene was filmed at the beginning of the movie. It was actually a college.
Spent almost two weeks alone – but wasn’t really alone as I was surrounded by lots of folks – and enjoyed every minute. The people of Henderson were so friendly and one of the county office workers gave me that tour of the courthouse. This stuff might seem trivial or even a waste of time; but it’s always been fun searching for exact locations used in moves .. and they’re not that difficult to find by just asking around. How is El Salvador? I was in El Salvador about a year ago – great food, plenty of non-meat options. Women there are ~50/50 overweight or really cute latinas so I was aok with that.
Ass was cheap – when i was in Tunco, which is kind of a tourist town for some surfing – the local girls there were like $50ish for an hour or so. Good looking. San Salvador was cheaper with good quality chicks – ~$30-40 if memory serves.
Beer was cheap, as in most of latin america, and variable quality – but you have to find the right places for it. All the locals will recommend you go to nice places (whether indy restaurants/bars, or American chains), because they want to “show off” the quality in their country to the foreigners. Obviously prices for everything, including beer, will be higher there. You need to dig around a bit to find places full of locals, but they’re goldmines when you do.
I have been to England, French Polynesia, The Cook Islands, Samoa, Hawaii, and Niue all by myself. I also once took a brand new GMC pickup with a matching Lear shell out for a drive and came back a month later. I saw the Grand Canyon, Arches, Bryce, Zion and Rocky Mountain Natl. parks and sampled some mighty fine steaks. Gotta do another of those trips!
There is a lot to be said for traveling solo. You get to follow your own schedule (or lack thereof) and eat what you want. If you get lonely there are women out there to be found, whether it be a female fellow traveler or a bored local. They usually don’t expect to ever hear from you again, either.
I have had adventures not likely to be had when traveling with a partner. Evenings in hot tubs with hot German chicks. Beer and cigars with the owner of a proper 300-year-old pub in England. Riding scooters around an island with a famous Australian TV star.
You NEVER have to go to a mumu factory or a store that sells glass baubles at extortionate prices, and you can eat in restaurants shaped like the food you are eating, It don’t get better that that!"I am is reportedly the shortest sentence in the English language. Could it be that I do is the longest sentence?" - George Carlin

My last vacation was in Natchez, Mississippi. It’s a beautiful place in its own right, and several movies have been shot there.

That is what I do. Where do the locals eat? That’s where I want to go.
Society asks MGTOWs: Why are you not making more tax-slaves?
I didn’t have much time to explore while I was there. I did a couple of local nature/estuary tours which were interesting though. We had a local guy onsite that was a chef and it was some of the best food I’ve ever eaten. The last night there he went to San Salvador and bought a hundred or so pupusas. Possibly it was being so hungry from training but they were wonderful. If I go back I will do something less structured and wander more but it was a good experience for the first time there.

No man, they’re really that f~~~ing good! I must’ve gained 5lbs in one week on pupusas alone. F~~~ing awesome
Never traveled abroad alone, but earlier this year, my Lecturer cancelled a lecture, so the day that it was scheduled I jumped into my car and drove to a theme park on my own. I walked through the gates and for the first time in a long time, I felt like I was in complete control of myself, nothing hanging over my shoulder, nothing holding me back, no one asking me for some sort of favor to do for them. Felt great, interestingly, I’ve told people and they say that it was silly, because they think that theme parks can only be enjoyed in a group of friends, but with friends, they can hold you back, or push you into something that you aren’t interested in, the feeling of being able to control your experience the way you want it is amazing.
Get the Fuck Up, Brush yourself off, and stand against the current
I used to travel for business alone quite a bit, sometimes in Europe. I love the free time I had to do sight seeing and such when not working. I don’t know that I’d want to go alone without work though.
A while back I had a female friend I took a few vacations with, Vegas and Mexico. It was nice having someone to do stuff with sometimes and could go off on my own, without any repercussions, when she wanted to do something girly. And by friend, I truly mean no sex or anything romantic. I could ogle other women and she had no car whatsoever.
I’ve also enjoyed traveling with a girlfriend, but I think that only works if she doesn’t think she’s got you hooked yet. Traveling with the spouse…major drawbacks. Traveling with just me and the kids has been great, as we just do kids stuff, with no concerns about going to nice restaurants, whether the hotel is nice enough, or stuff like that.
I suppose I do like taking day trips to the beach and such myself, but I don’t want to get too far from home on those.
Ok. Then do it.
I’ve always wanted to do this. Pretty much every time I have been on a vacation with a women, she is sick/tired/doesn’t want to go there. I think I’m going to bite the bullet and give it a try.
Thought I would update this thread. I found a list of places in my state to visit and have done 3 so far alone or with my youngest daughter. I still am somewhat amazed how much fun it can be to do things alone. Total control of your pace and energy. I find I do just as much as when I am trying to “please” someone else but enjoy it so much more. I see why longer term MGTOW’s prefer going to many places alone. Walking a trail with just the sound of nature instead of complaining or babbling is just so much more satisfying.
My avatar is me surfing in El Salvador and I don’t think I would have ever done that as part of a couple.
I have seen the world! I have set foot on 5 of the 7 continents! To quote Kid Rock (no homo) “I’ve slept in dumpsters and got high with kings”…I will bore you with the details of only one adventure though.
It was Dubai, Oct. 2014, after a day of indoor skiing at the Dubai Mall and Cuban Cigar shopping I treated myself to a Russian Working Girl. To the point…I Clinton/Lewinsky’d her with a Cohiba Esplendido whilst puffing on a Fuente Don Arturo AnniverXario while at the same time we both sang the American National Anthem at the top of our lungs, (no disrespect).
We then shared the cohiba with several heinikens. This was all done on my company’s dime. \\m//
You’ll never beat that, ever. But I encourage you to try.
