Hello there. This article is a response to a definition for MGTOW that was submitted to urbandictionary.com by a user named DastardlyMagpie.

The Submitted Definition:

MGTOW

Men Going Their Own Way; A bunch of whiny douchebags who can’t get girlfriends because of their blatant hatred of women, but claim it’s because they’re protesting against the unnamed evils that women routinely commit (see cognitive dissonance). Instead of actually going their own way, MGTOW spend excessive amounts of time complaining on the internet about how women have driven society to ruin, while they masturbate in their moms’ basements and do nothing to contribute to society. Some claim that they don’t hate all women, just those uppity “western women.” They’d be perfectly fine with dating one of those exotic, submissive “eastern women” who would do anything they asked (see stereotype).

It’s the equivalent of a five-year-old trying hold their breath until they get what they want, only they’re being incredibly unclear about what it is that they want and no one cares if they pass out from oxygen deprivation.

MGTOW: “Waa! Why can’t I get a girlfriend? I’m such a nice guy. Women are such evil, stupid bitches. I’m sick of all you c*nts not blowing me or cooking my dinner. I’m gonna go my own way!

Woman: “…Oh no. Don’t not date me. You’re such a charmer. Staying away from women is the most effective way of punishing our misdeeds, please don’t!” *suppresses laughter*

Response:

1) We are a bunch of whiny douche bags.

This is just a personal attack and some offensive name-calling that offers no real argument or value to a definition.

2) We can’t get girlfriends.

While this is just an assumption, a stereotype, and a personal attack, it is also inaccurate. Many men who have chosen the MGTOW lifestyle have ex-girlfriends and ex-wives and children. I don’t know how this would be possible if they could not get girlfriends in the first place. A more accurate statement would be that we don’t want girlfriends. Been there, done that, and it was not fun.

3) We have a blatant hatred for women and we claim that it is because we are protesting against the unnamed evils that women routinely commit.

I personally don’t hate women. I love women. I love the women that we were raised to believe existed and were deserving of our lifelong devotion. These would be loving and nurturing women who would have the virtues of integrity, honesty, fairness, and thus would be a thing of beauty. I have become disappointed however, by the reality of women. As I have come to understand how women hate men, or are incapable of the love that I was led to believe drove their psychology, my attraction to most women has never been the same.

We are not protesting against the unnamed evils that women routinely commit. We do not like how society has misrepresented the truth about women with regards to how they feel about men. Women evaluate men based on the utility that the man can provide the woman (the net worth statement). Men who are in love believe that the love is reciprocated, but it is the utility that the woman is in love with, not the man himself. This is why so many men have been discarded by women & society the moment that the man is no longer useful as a utility. See male vs. female homelessness statistics and male vs. female suicide statistics.

4) We spend excessive amounts of time complaining on the Internet about how women have driven society to ruin

I have to agree with this to the extent that there is some truth in it. Society is on its way to ruin. The wheels are coming off the bus. But it is not just women who have driven society to ruin. Many men are responsible for this also. The principal of equality in the eyes of the law has been completely ignored by the entire body of family law. I do not know how this came to be, and I do not know why this is being allowed to persist. The truth is that I want no part of the society that ignores the inalienable rights of half of its citizens. The only way to avoid family law, is by avoiding the family. Hence, goodbye altar of matrimony.

5) We masturbate in our moms’ basements and do nothing to contribute to society.

First off, masturbation is nothing to be ashamed of. It is a healthy part of human sexuality. Anyone who uses the accusation of masturbation as a shaming tactic is sexually repressed and should seek help.

Most men do not live in their mothers basement. Most men do not masturbate in their mothers basement. Clearly this is just another shaming tactic that has no basis in truth.

To assume that a man does nothing to contribute to society simply because he is disappointed with society’s treatment of him and his gender, is quite ridiculous. How do men contribute? Men pay taxes, men pay child support, men pay alimony, men build infrastructure, men invent new technologies, men maintain the peace and security of society by upholding laws within the society, and by defending their society against outside societies in wars. If there is a gender that contributes less to society, it is women.

6) We are the equivalent of a five-year-old trying to hold our breath until we get what we want, but no one cares if we pass out from oxygen deprivation.

If no one cares what we think, why did you write this angry definition? Clearly you do care, but you do not understand. That can easily be cleared up by some education from life, rather than from your gender studies professors. The truth is that we do not care if you care or not.

If we are the equivalent of a five-year-old, why are you writing a scathing definition about a child? What is wrong with you? Do you hate children?

7) We are being incredibly unclear about what it is that we want.

We could not possibly be more clear about what it is that we do not want. We do not want you. What we want is built into the name itself: men going their own way. We want to be left alone. We do not want to be cajoled and deceived into a relationship or a contract with another individual. We do not care about the opinions of others, we hold our own opinions up as the most important ones for us. We do not want our incomes and tax dollars spent on others. We do not want to be the utilities of others. We do not want to give our lives for others. We want to be left alone.

Society however, through its hypocrisies and its blatant lies seeks to harness the resources from hard-working men and to give those resources to other less capable members of society.

8) We seek to punish women for their misdeeds.

We do not wish to punish anyone. All we want is our freedom. We no longer want to be the wage slaves of society because society is unfair, unequal, and unappreciative of the blood, sweat and tears that we contribute.

Let me just say that if you have ever taken social assistance from the government, if you have ever taken alimony from an ex-husband or support from an ex-boyfriend, then you cannot call yourself an independent person. That means that you are dependent upon men for your survival. As a dependent I think it would be in your best interest to stop propagating the alienation of those members of society that you depend upon. Wake up. Atlas is shrugging. When all of the good men are disgruntled and gone, who will protect you when society crumbles under your feet. Men, will survive. Good luck to the rest.

In conclusion, the submitting of this “definition” for MGTOW to the UrbanDictionary.com by DastardlyMagpie serves only as evidence to support the conclusion that people reap the benefits of living in a free society that is created and maintained for them by men, all the while regarding those men with contempt and very little gratitude. Who the f~~~ would ever want one? A “girlfriend” is a chick who thinks an unmarried man should behave like a husband, not bang other chicks and pay for everything. What IDIOT would ever sign up for THAT??? The idiot who wrote that things of women as a “prize”. What a fool.

That poster is female. Who else would care enough to take the time to write that post? Why would a man care? A man who really wanted to marry and serve women would not be complaining that mgtow would make more women available to him. And a man who did not really want to serve women would already be one of us…

I sometimes spend the time to write a wall of text to make a point to/for other men. But one of my favorite benefits of being mgtow is that I don’t have to spend ANY time addressing the bitchings and whinings of females like this one.

I don’t see anyone giving this guy credit.  I see what has become an instilled reaction to the daily portion of feces that is ladled up as relevant news and popular opinion.

For me, the reason to get angry about anything that is said, such as the drivel submitted by DastardlyMagpie, is that it is a blatant lie.

I am injecting some humor here but if you don’t at least occasionally rail against the lies and bigotry launched in your direction, then victimhood could become a reality rather than a parody.

Fighting ignorance with eloquence and logic just like BVC demonstrated, clarifies ideas and provides a starting place for a consensus if needed.

I don’t agree. For example, there is a crew doing heavy road work in my area. Not one of them is female, not even those holding the stop signs. I do agree that men are partially excluded from the pink-collar jobs, only manginas need apply to those.
