So, I now work in the hotel biz at the front desk. I had a male manager who was fun, kind and a great leader. He recently left to move to another hotel. Sadly his female assistant is now running the show. I’m completely new to the industry, but I feel like she hates me and berates me constantly when I make mistakes. Yet when a female coworker makes a far bigger mistake than I do it’s “ok we’ll fix it”.
Time to move on? Or do I see if she officially gets his job and then move on? Thanks for help.
Wait and see if she gets his job, in the meantime start looking for other places of employment incase she does.
Never lose sight of what brought you here.
You could try complaining to upper management about her behavior if you have good, solid evidence of unfair treatment. Otherwise, you will probably be sacrificed in the name of “diversity” and maybe harassment for complaining about her harassing you.
Always have another job lined up, just in case things don’t go well.Wait it out, but polish the resume.
If you are worried ever about your job it’s a good chance you’re right.
If I was you i’d talk to her and try to work out a good work relationship or look for something new. You could apply to work with maintenance at the hotel as the maintenance boss is probably a male.- AuthorPosts
