If anyone hasn’t played the game yet or is thinking about getting it I highly recommend you do so. It was scary, had great characters, and the story was pretty good. The are multiple endings so you will want to play through multiple times as well. The story is a group of friends return to a cabin in the mountains 1 year after these twins who were their friends disappeared the previous year they were up there. Once they get up there they have to survive the night by running from a psycho and uncovering the mystery of not only their friends disappearance, but the mysteries of the mountain.

Some of these disappearances are beyond strange. Like a woman’s body found a feet from a well traveled trail. This trail had been searched by the police many times before the body showed up — it was found by a hiker. There may be more truth than fiction hidden in that game.

I have seen a Lets play of it from GalmHDs channel. Its a nice game alright. But I lost respect for Chris in this game. He is just a mangina. The story itself was very interesting and the whole Butterfly Effect System doesnt seem too bad. As far as I can tell, situations change more drastically because of it than in Life Is Strange, Walking Dead or Tales from the Borderlands.

I always had a hard time with games (and movies and media in general) of this type. Not because of the horror aspect (although I do find unnecessary or unrealistic gore annoying), but because of the sheer idiocy of most or all of the characters involved. I started to watch a couple let’s plays of Until Dawn and I agree that the game itself looks amazing and has great mechanics, but the characters… Ugh.

Only my subjective opinion, of course 🙂
