Basically, MS designed an AI that would tweet “like a teen girl”. The scary part is they may have succeeded for all the wrong reasons.

I could see a modern teen girl having such thoughts as what this AI had.

Yes, an AI, or a human, for that matter, is born with an empty mind. It learns while repeating and combining and trying stuff it sees, and doing random things, and watching what feedback the world gives on it. Same for this AI an for a small child. Is you invisibly brought your small child to the local pub with you for the night, he would pick up all the possible bad words and behaviors and repeat them next day in kindergarten. The same if you put a naive uneducated AI among trolls.
