No offense to anyone of a differing opinion, and I’m thinking of you Pistol Pete! I *wish* there was some evidence I believed, as it is quite intriguing and fascinating. I just don’t see it.

The common, go-to defense/argument against those who don’t believe in aliens (and this is NOT directed at you Pistol Pete) is that you must be:

Ignorant or self-centered to believe we are the only forms of intelligent life in the universe. Ok. Science has yet to find another habital planet in the universe. We have exhausted billions of dollars researching the galaxy, yet nothing.

You can’t hide something that big. And, it’s always assumed that if aliens did exist than they would be a more intelligent life form than us. So, wtf are they hiding for? Why would they come here in the first place?

Well I can’t make out much from the security cameras but so what? The point of the thread was the video you can agree or disagree. As for my own experience again you can accept it or not. But I’m not withdrawing a single thing about that event. I lived it. I know what I saw and what I did. Those facts are beyond dispute.

Do you guys realise MIB is an actual real job at NASA.

There was great fear that if alien life existed returning space personnel and infrastructure could return an alien virus that humans would have no defence against.

This is an actual hazard that could have dire consequences on earth.

You know what after the best screening not a single virus or organism or evidence thereof has ever been found.

The closest they ever got are basic elements that could be used in life forms.

Sorry if that fact is not spooky enough for y’all waiting on the spaceships.

Yo Beachbum I finally watched the doco. Was really interesting. Was actually gunna make a thread about it that you recommended it to me but no need to now.

I’m fairly isolated where I live and don’t have interactions with other people much, so I read alot of paranormal/alien/mystery s~~~ to stimulate my mind, (that or wanking, like Blade does every hour of the day haha) and lately have been f~~~ing paranoid as f~~~ hahaahha. The need for something larger than us; an answer. But, as you state, it is indeed a ‘substitute’.

Personally, I think it takes more faith to be an atheist than to believe in God. It simply pushes the question back farther. Where did: space, time, and matter come from?

I’m not saying that to believe in aliens is mutually exclusive to a belief in God. The Judeo-Christian texts are silent on the subject; but the obsessive fascination combined with a complete lack of evidence, is quite strange IMO.

If aliens both existed and are so much more advanced than we are, they wouldn’t need to do “fly-bys” of our planet to gain intel/recon work on us.

X11 finally asked a good question regarding evidence. Lets use my own experience as an example:

Hard evidence is: a craft of unknown origin and design–it is solid and metallic–and BTW flies really fast.
That is all it is in terms of hard evidence. who is piloting it is of course conjecture–but conjecture can have value when based upon logical deduction or inductive reasoning. that is the point of BeachBums video is to provide some hard evidence and ALLOW conjecture based upon inductive reasoning. Thats all.

Anyhoo there are literally thousands if websites, “documentaries$”, youtubes on people absolutely certain of alien contact.

I want to know how you separate fact from fiction and ignore the complete lack of evidence produced by multi billion, multi generational international science & engineering efforts to find such evidence and failing…apart from a few possible traces of life chemicals and possible bacteria fossils.

How do you resolve that?

Can you begin to see my utter contempt for this stuff and the dedication of the people that believe it?

From memory, I’ve only ever seen 2 UFO’s in my life. The first in 1997 when I was 12 and with a mate playing outside in the late afternoon. We saw what looked like a star in the sky zoom here there and everywhere at lightning fast speeds in a small area, then disappear. It was weird as f~~~.

The second was actually last year in New Zealand. I went out to my car in the dark in the early evening to get something. As I was walking back I saw a spinning type light in the background come to the foreground, and it then shot across the sky to the left and disappeared. I ran inside to tell my sons granddad and to come out and have a look, hoping it might re-appear and it didn’t. He thought i was full of s~~~ lol.

Sometimes you can’t. But there is a lot of hard evidence out there and yes a lot of superficial bulls~~~ and telling the two apart is a challenge. BUT one fake or goofy counter example does not discredit hard evidence. For example a craft landing and leaving radio active residue with an unidentifiable isotope is hard evidence–but only of the thing itself–where it came from and how it got there is conjecture but again sometimes you must use inductive reasoning to fill in the blanks–and sometimes one will be wrong but that doesn’t mean you stop looking for evidence and answers. And at some point the evidence (even secondary evidence like mine which is a first hand account) begins to become overwhelming. My account is evidence only of my account not of the thing itself. (As with the woman in the video)

And I too get frustrated with wild theories and unsupported nonsense but I’m still open to examine the evidence.

that was a poor example on my part this is a better one: They have discovered an isotope in the martian atmosphere which is NOT naturally occurring— it can ONLY be created as a result of a large nuclear fission explosion. So where did it come from? They have also discovered large areas of mars containing what is called
Trinitite, also known as Alamogordo glass–a residue again resulting from a large nuclear blast.

The existence of the isotope and the glass is HARD evidence, but evidence of what? subjectively and inductively it suggests a large nuclear blast—but that is conjecture; not evidence. Even so the supposition is valid since we know how these materials are created. As for what happened who knows. If someone comes along and states: “well some alien must have come along and nukes some other aliens”. That of course is a wild conjecture without a basis in fact. But that nonsense doesn’t negate the hard evidence and where it came from. I hope that helps.

@pistol, done my part and read the newspaper article and pretty much every other newspaper article of which there are many. I checked the sources, they either linked to other newspaper articles or articles by Brandenburg himself about himself and his book for sale and pictures of debunked “faces on mars”. I also read his journal article.

I then went to the science literature behind paywalls, yes I have access.

That was a fair bit of work. Can tell you what I found later.

My question for you is, and kinda think it’s fair as I followed your lead openly is;

What are his sources
What samples did he detect and how.

Two simple questions for you.

Hint: You won’t get much of an answer from newspaper articles.
