If ever we needed proof of the expression that “guns don’t kill people, people kill people” look no further than Britain, where families may have to start practicing cutting their steak and bread at dinner with a spoon. This is, of course, because Britain’s politicians have now made the absurdly ridiculous move to call for the banning of what Reason magazine called “the most useful tool ever invented” – the knife.

It’s not about ‘knife crime’ – it’s about disarming the public.

This not the first time this idea has surfaced. The first time was 2-3 years ago, when it was suggested that the public should not be allowed to own any knife with a point – even at home.

That got nowhere, so now they have invented the ‘knife crisis’. This has been pushed relentlessly in the media (which is itself enough to tell you that there’s an agenda).

“There is never a reason to carry a knife”? Let me correct that for you, Mayor Khan: There is almost never a reason to NOT carry a knife.

Better send crews out to scour the land for loose stones and large sticks. The bad guys might use them as weapons! Glass bottles, too. Hell, why not keep everyone safe and make it crime to go outside?

What’s even more disturbing in some ways than their knife ban, is the fact that their police want expanded powers to stop and frisk people to check for knives.

I’ve been carrying knives since I was a small child growing up on the farm. There was always something you needed a knife for. It’s part of my routine for leaving the house. Grab my keys, put on my watch, put my wallet in my pocket, put one of my knives in my pocket, or a larger one on my belt………and put a handgun in my holster.

It used to be illegal in my state to conceal carry any knife over four inches. Now, any knife that is legal to own and carry is legal to conceal, even if it’s a sword and all knives, including automatic knives, (switch blades), are legal to own and carry with the exception of a ballistic knife which shoots the blade completely out of the handle like a projectile.

Yes. We call it rounders and use a smaller bat. It’s not very popular now. Full-size baseball bats are commonly available and are the yobs weapon of choice.
