Udate to starting a new job working under a woman.

I just wanted to thank all the guys who gave me some great advice on my first thread on this topic. I also wanted to drop an update and let those brothers know how it is going so far after almost a month at the new job. So far so good! Keeping busy with a book in down time has been so far the greatest thing since sliced bread, she sleeps and I read, almost done with a quite a long and good book, it’s all aliens and plagues so it is right up my alley. The only negative is that this lady makes quite a lot of sexual jokes and I find it concerning that joking back/even laughing at those jokes can get me in hot water. It is almost natural response to joke back since that is how it is at the firehouse, but I know that can get me in trouble so if anyone here has a suggestion on how to catch one’s self and keep from doing so I would greatly appreciate it.

Just a venting section here, at the stupid fire house I have only worked two shifts and 3 fires at I just about resigned because of some idiot trying to pull me into soap opera drama. I was not even back two weeks and the same mental crap was trying to suck me back in. That place taxed my sanity because of its drama. I was so much more at peace without being there when I was off on injury. Typed up the resignation, but thought better of it. Trying to buy my own house and land, need the job since its my longest held job of the three but no longer primary. The other two I have not even been at or a full year. I want to drop the longer held one because of the BS but I need it’s tenure and its pay is much better than the other fire department. Will be trying to start up a gravel delivery business this spring/summer. Might be able to drop a job then.

I worked for a woman once, a lesbian land whale but she was actually OK to work with. She let me do my thing and had my back when I needed to make tough calls that affected the a lot of people in the office. But the office was 90% female and was one of the most miserable places I ever worked… because of them not because of my boss. I never worked with so many whiny entitled gossipy people in my life. Then they fired my boss and replaced her with an even larger land whale who was a miserable bitch that I didn’t get along with and she only encouraged all the bulls~~~ woman crap going on in the office so that all got worse as well. Eventually i just couldn’t stand it anymore.

So a brief update to the update, I have been getting better around the jokes, not reacting or responding to certain types of jokes and myself no longer using them. The response to my behavior is that those jokes are lessening and beginning to fade. So far so good.
