Yet, in a trade that illustrates how the rise of the American shale industry is upending energy markets across the globe, the U.A.E. bought oil directly from the U.S. in December, according to data from the federal government. A tanker sailed from Houston and arrived in the Persian Gulf last month.

Its close to the peak of US oil production in 1971.

All my life I've had doubts about who I am, where I belonged. Now I'm like the arrow that springs from the bow. No hesitation, no doubts. The path is clear. And what are you? Alive. Everything else is negotiable. Women have rights; men have responsibilities; MGTOW have freedom. Marriage is for chumps. If someone stands in the way of true justice, you simply walk up behind them and stab them in the heart-R'as al Ghul.

That’s the thing, though. We don’t buy oil because we don’t have enough here but because we don’t have enough refineries. We sell crude oil and purchase refined oil.

Maybe it’s some of the oil we stole from them and are just selling it back to them. The American Dream.

lol Yea, we already got uninvited infrastructure in everyone else’s country over there, Military bases, refueling stations, why not sell some of it back to them right? Does’nt look like we are leaving Syria now anytime soon as well, even after our supposed reason for being their has been moped up by the Russians because somehow even with the biggest Military on the planet x5 we still couldn’t get the job done…

Unless someone is lying here of course, but that would never happen, would’nt it be more cost effective for my tax dollars to just go straight to the Russians?

OPEC found they slit their own throats when they decided to try to reduce production to drive U.S oil producers out of business, and gain control. They gave up, and U.S oil production grew. Markets have ways of undermining cartels. Read what Adam Smith wrote on this.

My point is valid, even if I Got something else wrong. OPEC decided to flood production to drop prices and drive the U.S producers out. It didn’t work. All that was done is cost some U.S jobs and the shale oil producers just waited on pumping. If they then go the other way, an cut production to maximize profits, then other producers come along, along with new technology. Factor also in green energy, and you have what is going on. OPEC is going to face less control over things.
