    1774 Boston Tea Party
    1776 Independence
    Etc….

    Women’s history book:
14…?? Who cares, omg, like, did you hear about the oppression suffered by white English women cuz they had 2 wash clothes???
1774 Something about tea, I like tea, I should phone my mom, I wonder if I’m fat?

Tumblr, just keep patting yourself on the back. Sit there all day complaining about how bad women have it, and then talk about how great you are. It’s crazy how women can succeed despite all the OPPRESSION like men holding doors for them and the VICIOUS RAPE CULTURE of a total stranger telling her she has nice hair. Truly, they must be the bravest people alive to overcome such OPPRESSION. Keep beating that drum, ladies.

Feminism is a movement where opinions are presented as facts and emotions are presented as evidence.

Women’s History Month, huh? Let me contribute:

You’ve all seen this image, “Rosie the Riveter.” The icon for feminists across the globe. Her real name was Naomi Parker. The image was J. Howard Miller’s rendition of a news photograph:

As you can clearly see, Miller took some artistic liberties.

The “We Can Do It!” poster is mistakenly credited to Geraldine Doyle. She too was a riveter like Parker.

Interestingly, Doyle quit her job after two weeks. Her reason? She was afraid that she might hurt her hands.

    How fitting.

I’m confused, I was told that the name of the woman in the We Can Do It poster was Geraldine Hoff? Why are there so many different names being tossed around?

Does it really matter what woman is in it? The important thing to remember is this “icon of feminism” was painted by a man.

    My mistake. To clarify:

The “We Can Do It!” poster model is Naomi Parker.

Geraldine Hoff added “Doyle” to her name when she married Leo Doyle.

Geraldine Hoff Doyle is not the model for the “We Can Do It!” poster, as some believe.

Geraldine Hoff Doyle and Naomi Parker were riveters.

Naomi Parker is Rosie the Riveter. Geraldine Hoff Doyle is not Rosie the Riveter.

When I said “The ‘We Can Do It!’ poster is mistakenly credited to Geraldine Doyle”, that was a typo. It should be “The model for the ‘We Can Do It!’ poster is mistakenly credited to Geraldine Doyle.”

    J. Howard Miller made the “We Can Do It!” poster.

I should have been more elaborate. That will clear things up.

    Ahh I see. Cheers.

It’s just handy to know in case it ever comes up in argument. How typical that she eventually quit the job because she thought it was too dangerous. The last time that the “We Can Do It” girl was mentioned at my uni, somebody also said that she only worked as a metal presser long enough to get her photo taken and really wanted to be a cellist.

I’m sorry I just had to do that, but in all seriousness what a f~~~ing joke that tumblr is. It the same talking points copied and pasted 100 times over, it got old after 10 seconds.

Honestly I don’t think those sites give a f~~~, they just have to do it because of it being a sort of PC obligation. Google probably doesn’t give a f~~~ either, or any other corporation for that matter. They pay lip service and that’s about it.

The NFL doesn’t give a f~~~ about breast cancer awareness, they just want to generate more revenue so they play along.

The Children of Doom... Doom's Children. They told my lord the way to the Mountain of Power. They told him to throw down his sword and return to the Earth... Ha! Time enough for the Earth in the grave.

So now where having a whole month of no f~~~s given about women’s monologue? Fine by me. Do that most of time anyway but it’s always good to have some specific time set aside to make a conscious effort and reinforce the patter of NFG.

How about a Woman’s History Year, 12 months of NFG…
