If you keep up with the political BS you probably read that Trump lost his appeal regarding providing his tax returns to Congress. The case will end up with the Supreme Court.
So I was reading the tax code again to try to understand if Trump has a leg to stand on. That’s when I stumbled upon something that no one has mentioned. That same code section gives very similar rights to the Department of Justice. If the DOJ is doing an investigation of someone that could end up in front of a federal grand jury, then it has the right to ask the IRS for that person’s tax return.
So let’s say the DOJ was investigating a former Vice President for trading political favors for his son. The DOJ would have every right to ask for the former VP’s tax returns as well as his son’s.
Now the truth is they probably do it all the time and just never say a word. I just find it interesting that this point is never mentioned.
I wonder what potential law Adam Schiff may have broken that would cause his tax return to be requested by the DOJ? Careful what weapon you use that can also be used on you….

Aside from prejudicing “public opinion” and trying to predetermine the democrat’s desired outcome for their own political gain.
Why does The U.S house of Congress “need” to publicly disclose the tax returns of the current sitting President? Is there not an ongoing “investigation” into President Trump’s “financial dealings” i.e “tax returns”?
Is there not already various “investigations” of President Trump for a slew of allegations forwarded by the democratic party, and other “concerned 3rd parties” at the behest of the democrats?
Is it not “illegal” to publicly disclosed “pertinent facts” found during an ongoing investigation, prior to submission to “the courts” or an actual trial?
I am “fairly certain” that both the U.S DOJ, and the U.S IRS have the powers (through various laws/legislation) to investigate, draw upon, correlate, and submit pertinent evidence found to be factual regarding any allegation of wrong doing by anyone. Not just President Trump
How about investigating Obama, Clinton (all of them), and other unpopular or “suspect” politicians?
The U.S Government has several “forensic investigation units” across several agencies at its disposal already. They just haven’t been able to find “THE” evidence that the left demands.
Why?
Because they have no real premise for the allegations, and an allegation is just that. It is not “proof positive” of wrong doing (criminal/civil/ethics). They have no real idea on what they wish to “prove”.
This is more of the left throwing crap threw a screen hoping something sticks. As Taxguy stated.
Be careful of what you wish for, you may just get it.
I would point out that what is good for Paul, is also good for Peter and Mary.
The thing about “tax returns” (IMHO), is that once you do a “forensic” investigation. It opens other avenues of investigations in regards to where you “spent” money, “who” and “how much” money to, what is was used for, aside from where the money came from.
That opens up OTHER types of investigations into other parties and will probably come right around to the dems’ and bite them in the ass. IIRC President Trump donated to, has supported, and has “intimate” contacts with various democrat “power players”.
The constant attacks from the left go well beyond the limits of civil tolerance (and the risks of public/political life) and actually border on the illegal. As in inciting and partaking in criminal harassment, inciting violence, inciting civil disobedience/discord, and literally persecution of the sitting President. There was a time in my life when I gave a fuck. Why does The U.S house of Congress “need” to publicly disclose the tax returns of the current sitting President?
They don’t. Its all just politics and theatrics. Libtards are just desperate to figure out his net worth so they can use it as a GOTCHA moment like he lied about how much he’s worth. In all fairness I’m sure he has inflated his numbers at some point, but its Trump…the guys a supreme troll, he knows him throwing numbers out about how rich he is is going right up people’s asses. The people who it bothers are those who are going to hate him no matter what he does, so he keeps doing it knowing he’s driving them nuts and he doesn’t want tax returns released because he doesn’t want to hand that GOTCHA moment.
The other thing is a lot of his net worth is tied up in real estate and businesses. Even if you asked Trump his net worth right now and he wanted to give you an honest answer he’s going to be off. There isn’t a hard value on any of this stuff, its all worth what someone will pay for it. He can’t just look at the balance in a few accounts and be like “Yup…worth this much.”
Ultimately if the IRS wants to audit him, which I’m sure they have at various points, I’m all for it. If he hasn’t done anything illegal though, why do I care? I’m more concerned about politicians who are becoming filthy rich while in office, who have charities who get piles of money donated to it while in office which mysteriously stops once they are no longer in office, and who have family members who happen to get appointed to high level positions they clearly have no qualifications or experience to justify. But you know…lets just ignore stuff like that because its more important we can say Trump is worth X when 3 years ago he claimed he was worth Y.

What these fools do not understand if they get his tax returns they will destroy the IRS.
The IRS only is allowed to collect so much information because it cannot be readily used in court. There is even a income tax form for other (criminal) gains.
If tax information can be easily obtained by prosecutors this opens the door for blackmail of the super-rich, which sends the whole system crashing down.
Isn’t the IRS and the DOJ part of the Executive Branch? Maybe Trump should figure out that the two parties are a mafia, and he should jsut start acting like a mob boss, like all the presidents before him
I honestly hope that in his last term when he KICKS out every Sorry POS Corrupt swamp wader out of that place. I miss the days when people were actually honest and did the right thing.
You are all alone. If you have been falsely accused of RAPE, DV, PLEASE let all men know about the people who did this. http://register-her.net/web/guest/home
Why does The U.S house of Congress “need” to publicly disclose the tax returns of the current sitting President?
Here’s what’s funny Grumpy. That law that allows Congress the right to request anyone’s tax return doesn’t give them the right to disclose what’s in those tax returns. In fact, the Congress is only allowed to see them in what’s called “sitting in closed executive session”. Now I don’t know exactly what that means, but I would guess that it has some pretty serious restrictions on it.
Libtards are just desperate to figure out his net worth so they can use it as a GOTCHA moment like he lied about how much he’s worth. Go to Amazon and look up “The Art of the Comeback”. Trump already wrote an entire f~~~ing book about losing a s~~~load of money and making a comeback. But even that’s not good enough for the D’s. The other thing I heard that Trump does when he talks about what he’s worth is put a value on his name. Which is only allowed for accounting purposes if you acquire a company and the name has value. You don’t get to magically put a value on something you didn’t pay for. But then again, who cares? He take a little liberty with his net worth, big deal.
The thing about “tax returns” (IMHO), is that once you do a “forensic” investigation. It opens other avenues of investigations in regards to where you “spent” money, “who” and “how much” money to, what is was used for, aside from where the money came from.
Another important point. Congress can request to see his tax return. But that doesn’t give them any of the underlying documents. I’m going to guess that there isn’t a line item on his tax return that says “Illegal money from Russia to help interfere with the election”.

Again, this demand for President Trump’s tax returns are for what “definitive” reason?
All a completed “tax return” does is indicate legitimate income earned, “capital gains” and “losses” and taxes paid at both the State and Federal levels. (is this not correct?)
As TaxGuy stated, I highly doubt there are any line one must complete for illegal/questionable income or loss of income either. So his tax returns provide what? aside from his net worth.
How many times does the IRS have to investigate the same allegations when they keep coming up empty handed, or at best a lame item that the left makes another lame allegation about?
Massive amounts of Taxpayer resources are being wasted at a phenomenal rate with the garbage stunts and demand the left are making.
The only thing that has been resulting in this continue act of sedition from the Dems and congress itself, is more division among U.S citizens and estrangement from allies.
The world gets it. The ‘tards on the left dont “like” President Trump. Ok shaddup already. The ‘tards on the right dont like you ‘tards on the left either, we just go about our business in a civil manner and let or “vote” do the talking for us.
If the U.S Treasury board (which is the parent of the IRS if I am not mistaken) responds to “feelings” and complaints against the sitting ELECTED U.S President and launches investigations against “him”. Are they doing the same investigations into the those same “complainants” to see if the allegation has merit? There was a time in my life when I gave a fuck. Now you have to pay ME for it
