Not sure how many here are console gamers, but they’ve just announced a sequel to one of my favorites.
Likely not exactly, but at least it’s something to do with the series. Not my first violent game, but the original was my introduction to Suda51 and Grasshopper in general, and it was like a whole new way of viewing storytelling and characters, etc.
I’m uncertain how things will go in this, but whereas the second game was a bit more basic, the first I feel had some underlying tones that had to do with the kind of people that would play these games, and their relationships with both fame and women, to a lesser extent revenge(conversely, much more emphasized in 2).
Thing is, I’ve understood this for a while, but have not really conceptualized it so much until I started listening to some MGTOW youtubers and reading some articles and even posts on here. There are a lot of missing years, and it’s not completely serious, but I feel Travis has more or less gone his own way, what with his reputation as the “Crownless King” and all.
The baseball bat gimp guy here, apparently related to Bad Girl from the first game, has me wondering how he’ll play into the story. Won’t say I’m not a bit disappointed, I always thought it would be neat if Dr. Peace had turned out to be her father, given his song and the meaning behind it, which would in turn motivate her to kill the way she did. Guess we’ll see. Now I’ll need to start saving for a Switch.
