I introduced myself in another thread and noticed how people respond to the fact that I’m in Toronto. I’ve noticed in the manosphere (esp Sandman and LMarco and Roosh) that Toronto is known as the worst place for men in North America, maybe the world (though I imagine NYC and SF have to be right up there).
I’ve spent time thinking about why this might be, and have heard many ideas from others. I’d like to compile a list of the top reasons…
1) Socialism. Canada’s political/legal/educational system tend toward socialism in a lot of ways. Socialism and feminism tend to go hand in hand. Pretty self explanatory. And Toronto is the cultural center of Canada, so whatever cultural trends pervade Canadian society will be focused or accelerated in Toronto. Girls who are the product of our education system think that they are the center of the known universe and the world owes them happiness.
2) British manners. As someone pointed out in another thread, Canadians have adopted and internalized the British custom of being polite even when being s~~~ on. I think this is brilliant and astute, hard to see and realize especially for the average blue pill’er, even for some red pill’ers. What I find most atrocious about the whole thing isn’t what women do, as you can’t blame a cat for scratching the furniture or a dog for p~~~ing on the carpet, but what men put up with. I think it’s almost a badge of honour in British and Canadian society how much s~~~ a person is willing to eat and still smile. Men have internalized this custom re: relationships with women. Passive aggression has been normalized as well, and this is toxic to all relationships.
3) An overvalued economy. Our housing market is bloated beyond belief, with a basic detached home now going for over $1 million (anything really nice is over $2 mill). Hence anyone who lives/works in Toronto, especially condo owners, see themselves as little millionaires riding a success rocket, meanwhile they work in an office for $60-80K and likely won’t go much further than that. This ethos is as evident in men as much as it is in women, but then women have the added market value of female sexuality, so the female condo owner values herself at 2-3 times her male counterpart. Even our freaking subway costs more than it does in NY, Chicago, Boston, etc. I guess Toronto is overvalued all around, and people have internalized and accepted this as the norm.
…. what does everyone think, what other reasons are there?
Wow, I live in Calgary and I thought that was bad enough. Toronto sounds like hell on earth.
I’m a fellow Ontarian and could only handle Toronto in doses. I haven’t been face to face with some dumb feminist situation, and am perfectly fine not doing so. I tread lightly downtown. Our housing in Ontario in general is atrocious.
I haven’t been in Toronto for more than 24 hours at a time, and yet when I read that Toronto is the worst city to live in as a man, I wasn’t surprised. Everyone I meet from there, with few exceptions, seems to have a terminal dose of entitlement. I can only imagine what that has done to the women, especially after third wave feminism.
I live in Toronto, and it isn’t as bad. He is right though, feminism is promoted like hell here. The women are extremely stupid, slutty, and manipulative. Seriously, without any racism intended why is it always/mostly western women?
Toronto’s problems started in the 1980’s, with a very large lesbian-oriented feminist surge at the universities like York and Ryerson.
This was not typical second or first wave feminist either. Toronto became a harbour of militant nazi-feminists very early compared to other cities. Man hating there was first aimed at men who were not from certain ethnic groups, because those men were never seen as good enough as mate material. Women expressed openly that Italian and Arabic men were “real men”, which had more to do with the swagger of Euro based skirt chasers then it did with any real cultural value. Men from those cultures learned early how to lie to women to manipulate them, and the women ate it up like candy. Pretty soon no other man was good enough, so not to many men got laid unless they stepped up the lying and BS to get some. The whole pickup culture was a draw for the women like moths to a flame, and there was no convincing women that the guys they valued the most were going to be the first to use and throw them away. The feminist line was that women were not capable of mistakes in judgment, so of course the resulting cycle of failed matings was obvious.
This was in stark contrast to the whole “sensitive man” movement of the 1990’s, where women got tired of the macho BS of the 1980’s standards, and started demanding that men of Toronto be more sensitive and obedient to a woman’s need. Like this did not confuse the still single males even more. Personally I think this was just a tactic the women used to start bagging beta males with money to raise their little brats. I knew dozens of “sensitive” men who got replaced by “real men” shortly after the house was bought and the brats came alone. Back then the divorce courts were horrible in how they raped men over the coals. The women spread their views by word of mouth, and before long the divorces were out of control. Men were put out on the street in droves.
This created a very hateful gender war point of view at that time. Not unlike what was happening in other countries. But the Toronto media is very pro-feminist, and men were quickly crucified for everything from being deadbeat dads to being not good enough at making money for the little woman. Women got more frustrated and angry, because a lot of men saw their friends screwed and would not marry. Not without coincidence that the “co-habitation’ laws changed at that time, so that men who even lived with women for a year were suddenly on the hook for money as well.
So on one hand you had the schizoid attacks in the work place from the lesbian man-haters, and on the personal level men were suppose to be macho in the off-working life. The result was men who were willing to lie, cheat and steal suddenly figured out quickly how to get away with sleeping with any woman they wanted by simply telling women what they wanted. Any decent man with ethics did not do that, and got left on the side of the road to die. Women started marrying or having kids with the abusive liars, and soon ghetto numbers of single mothers sky-rocketed.
Canadian men were too polite and compliant through all of this psycho enlightenment history of women, and most got burned by it. So women got more and more demanding, because they got more and more privilege and rewards the more they whine. Given the higher then normal population of disney princess wannabees, along with the growing stealth lesbian population growth, and you end up with a nasty cauldron of a dozen angry woman stereo types that make men just want to give up on the female side of the race completely.
If you live in Toronto stick to the foreign women or recent arrivals from elsewhere. Any female born and raised in Toronto has an entitlement pole up their rear that you can see a mile away.
"Women have become so full of hatred that they are blind to reason and humanity. That which they practice will be the end of humanity, long before any war that men may fight.." "Women are predators by nature. Why else do you think they are so quick to gang up and go after a man they hate for showing any sign of weakness?"
I was in Toronto once, To the the science museum. Very Nice. I went to a bar and the bouncer carded me….Really, I was 35. Anyhow I gave him my Pa State Drivers License and he said “where is Pennsylvania?” I said it is the Provence to the South and he looked all confused.
Once I got inside, the bar was done up as a NASCAR homage and all they served was f~~~ing Budweiser and a crappy cheap American whiskey. Nothing Canadian at all. I asked for a Molson and they looked at me like I asked for 8 year boy and a pound of Heroin.
good times

I’d imagine all the Eastern Provinces/states are metropolian s~~~holes. Toronto, New York, New Jersey, Boston, etc.
I lived in Toronto for about 15 years.
I’ve also lived in Montreal for about 5 years.
I’m currently living in Calgary.
In the near future I will be moving to Vancouver.I’ve spent a lot of time in every city in Canada. Toronto’s not a bad town. It is true that you will have daily confrontations with feminists, leftists, and liberals and the majority of the population is liberal. If you can block that out, Toronto is not a bad place to live. Huge city, the opportunities for entertainment and lifestyle are endless. On the flipside, the economy is weak when compared to other Canadian cities. Winters are harsh. One good thing about Toronto is the multiculturalism. I like that because I like to have sex with girls of various ethnicities. Here in Cowtown (sorry, er, Calgary) it’s basically just white chicks.
If you really want my opinion. Vancouver is the best city in Canada and that’s why I’m moving there. The beauty is unbelievable, you’re within a 30 minute drive of the Ocean, the Mountains. It beats the crap out of Lake Ontario or Niagara Falls. It is by far the most beautiful part of Canada. It has the big city conveniences of Toronto, minus the winter, and cost wise I’d say its the same. At the present time, the job market is much stronger in BC than Toronto.
On the flipside, the economy is weak when compared to other Canadian cities.
That’s what happens when a city pursues chasing silly luxuries like ultra expensive, fragile condos at the cost of flattening much of the industrial area of the city.
I was in Toronto once, To the the science museum. Very Nice.
It was indeed cutting edge and a groundbreaking concept at the time it opened in the late ’60’s. Used to be a fantastic place. But ever since they “renovated” it, it seemed to lose much of what made it worth going to. Looking around the internet, it seems I’m not the only one who feels the changes were not for the better.
It’s one of those things that came out of the glory days of Ontario and has since fallen from it’s exalted status.
