Kevin Dutton, a British psychologist and writer, specialises in the study of psychopathy. In his book “The Wisdom of Psychopaths: What Saints, Spies, and Serial Killers Can Teach Us About Success,” he made a list of the types of jobs that attract the most psychopaths.

There is only one flaw in that plan. A psychopath is only in it for their self. A psychopath will not take actions for the “greater good”. A psychopath will allocate resources based solely on how the situation will benefit oneself the most.

Such a situation, with psychopaths in charge, will lead to the formation of fiefdoms that will war with each other.

Though, that might be the results said planners had in mind.

That list is a bit weird, at least chef has nothing to do there. Hard to imagine functioning psychopath being content with being a chef.

Positions of power make sense, add also finance, politics, HR. Lack of empathy is a clear advantage there.

Two thoughts on that.

1) Isn’t that basically like world history already? (fiefdoms ruled by psychopaths at war with each other)

2) Isn’t the country already run by psychopaths?

In the end, the thing is very relative. Is the person really sick, or society just wasn’t able to find proper place for him?

Narcissist? Er… ok, I don’t know.

The problem that in its desire to accomodate all types of people government created a lot of positions which make destructive job and the society as whole pretty sick…
