When I was a boy, I admired my dad’s metal tool box. When I opened it, there were trays for everything: screwdrivers, wrenches, nails, screws, a hammer, etc.
My first memory of using tools was when I would tighten the bolt on the metal truck of my skateboard. The boys in the neighborhood would meet up at someone’s house so we could brag about our skateboards. I made sure mine was looking good. We used to put a bit of oil in the ball bearings for a smoother ride.
I’m looking forward to getting my own garage in the future. I’m definitely going to get a tool chest. It’ll probably look like this:
I already have a collection of screwdrivers—I keep losing them, so I buy more. It’ll be great to have all my tools organized in one place. I can’t wait to fill those trays with nuts and bolts.

What do you plan on using them for bro .

I just want to have tools around to fix stuff. On rare occasions I assemble things.

Anonymous7Tools and the knowledge of their use is invaluable.
No such thing as too many tools.Yes, even most awesome dremel.
Anonymous0I love having about a million tools right at my fingertips. Aside from a big toolbox with the basics, I have heavy shelving in the basement with bins of wrench sets, spare parts for everything, power tools, charging units, and so on.
Dremels are great. Most people can probably get by with buying a set of dremel-style bits and attachments and use them with a standard variable-speed power drill. But for close-up work (crafting), the smaller dremel handle is best.
Invest in good basic hand tools if you can afford it. Premium brands feel right when you use them and help prevent rounding of screw and bolt heads as opposed to most cheap brands. The price of a set of Snap-On/Mac wrenches, ratchets and sockets, and screwdrivers will shock you but they will last a lifetime and they do make a difference. I will buy other cheaper brands for larger tools because their size tend to make them close to the same strength as Premium brands. If you are Canadian and can’t afford Snap-On I would suggest that Canadian Tires’s Mastercraft Professional series hand tools are a good value especially when they come on sale. Don’t know of an American equivalent.
Anonymous54Allways buy good tools.
Ive had my Crafstman stuff since my teens.I bought meself a 40 piece toolset yesterday. Do I really need it? No. But it’s handy to have tools lying around!

I still have tools that I forged myself when I started my apprentiship 43 years ago.
Good tools will indeed last a lifetime.

Don’t be afraid to do the research yourself on any task at hand, I use UT and the net in general to problem solve and troubleshoot things I don’t know about, and sure enough there’s tools involved I didn’t have but made the investment for the sake of being independent from repair costs in such a mechanically and electrically driven world. I repair my own vehicles including electrical troubleshooting and computer diagnostics. As cars got harder to work on I kept learning the newer systems, I learned emissions controls shortly after they made smog testing laws, I always get my cars through inspection no matter what, I never go to a dealer unless for parts.
Repairing all your own stuff in this world is a must! The alternative is paying someone else plus down time of any machine or device.
You’ll be surprised what you can learn when you put your mind to it and tell yourself you can do it!
Plenty of well off dudes know how turn wrenches! Learn it all and buy the necessary tools!
My tool box can crush me if I opened all the draws and stood in front of it! (never open all your draws on a tower tool box) The rest of my equipment is tons of copper, cast iron, steel, gases, you name it! I likely have it! And I’m ALWAYS BUYING MORE! I’m looking at making more investments into my/our plant food company.
I stopped doing welding and fabrication for others than my friends and myself, but still have all the tools and equipment. Construction equipment too, I help my friends and in turn they help me!

Men have been successful with tools since the dawn of time! Don’t let this c~~~centric world tell you otherwise!
What do you plan on using them for bro .
DREMEL dude f~~~ what a handy tool . Its a must have .
And if you get the cable attachment there’s almost nothing it can’t do. I love my dremel. Plus you can make a bit of spare cash with it doing dental work on the side !

But bro check out the dremel .
Thanks for the tip, Blade. I will check it out.

Anonymous7If you can, find tools that are high visibility – orange, green, yellow, etcetera. I’ve lost plenty of screwdrivers, pliers, dikes, and others in someone’s car because they were camouflaged.
One of the best boxes I have is a roll around with drawers – mac tools.
A magnet tray is a wonderful thing to have, as well. Keeps all your screws, nuts, bolts, and whatnot secure.
As others have stated… buy the good stuff. It is worth it! I can’t say how many reduction sockets and swivels(universal joints) I’ve broken because they were crap Chinese junk, and I was being cheap at the time.
All my hand tools are Mac, Snap On, or oldschool Craftsman. No Lowes/Homedepot bulls~~~.
Things get even better when you go pneumatic.
You’ll be surprised what you can learn when you put your mind to it and tell yourself you can do it!
Thank you, MG-tower. I don’t have much experience working with machine shop tools–other than my high school woodworking class. I’m interested in home improvement projects. That’s on my bucket list.

Every man should have a good set of tools. I have Craftsman sockets and wrenches and my pliers and screwdrivers are most all Klein.
I do need to get myself a dremel tool. I’ve needed one on many occasions. Another must is a cordless drill. Mine is a Dewalt and it’s been a very good tool for many years. I bought it as a set and it came with a small circular saw that I’ve used a lot.
A good tool chest is a must. I have a small roll around with many drawers, but it’s been pretty beat up as I used to use it every day at my old job. Need to get another one, but damn those things are pricey.
The evil in women’s hearts leaves them no moral bounds as to inhibit them from descending to the lowest levels of darkness to acquire their self entitled desires.
Short video excerpt from the New Yankee Workshop detailing the hanging tool chest of piano builder H.O. Studley. This is some of the finest wood craftsmanship I have ever seen. Henry Studley built this tool chest over the course of his 30-year career at the Poole Piano Company sometime in the 19th century.
Search online – there are a number of sites about this tool chest.I was bound to be misunderstood, and I laugh at those who misunderstand me. Kind mockery at the well intentioned, but unfettered cruelty towards those would be prison guards of my creative possibilities. This so as to learn as much from misunderstanding as from understanding. Taking pleasure in worthy opponents and making language fluid and flowing like a river yet pointed and precise as a dagger. Contradicts the socialistic purpose of language and makes for a wonderful linguistic dance, A verbal martial art with constant parries that hone the weapon that is the two edged sword of my mouth.

A&men brother tower, The skills services and time of life I have left is not for freeloaders.
This is the reason I am forbidden from working for anyone but my father now.
I put full faith and trust in him.
Love and respect to all
