I have best luck using small boneless pork roast .. about two pounds with chopped .. potatoes, carrots, celery and onions along with some kind of seasoning packet in about half cup of water for eight hours on low heat. For some reason, I usually enjoy a side dish of jello and some fresh french bread along with my slow cooker meal. I’ve also started using crock-pot plastic disposable liners since it make cleaning up so much quicker with no scrubbing or difficult washing other than a quick rinse.

Minus the celery and jello, this was my meal to a T. Will have to try some jello tomorrow with round three of the meal. That would be a very interesting fruit complement to the basic flavor.

The electric computer controlled pressure cookers are really good too.

Once cooked, you can store in the fridge for meals during the week. Doesn’t go bad.

I can make a meal go a long way. I normally buy an entire chicken and I roast it, then pull the meat off to save for a later day and keep the bones for an awesome stock. The amount of money I’ve saved and health I’ve gained for me is impressive. I should have learned this ages ago.

The next step is to get one from a good butcher to save the head and feet since I kind of like those as well to increase the amount of bone in my stocks.
