If you think about it many young teachers are like 25 years old teaching high school students maybe 6-7 years younger. That really isn’t too big of an age difference in maturity levels.

Some 25 year old chick with raging hormones wants to bang every Chad in sight including Mr. Johnny Football who’s just so happens to be 17. They don’t think logically but emotionally.

However, if a young male teachers had any sort of relationship with a student he would be locked up for quite some time and ridiculed. Double standards do exist.

I absolutely agree. It’s not the age difference that troubles me (although girls go through puberty sooner, so 15 year old girls are actually MORE sexually mature than 15 year old boys). Rather, they’re taking advantage of a position of power and what is supposed to be a professional relationship. And of course the biggest problem here is the double standard.
