    Hi Rhino 🦏

The texts you found for your “Want to ask her to marry you” post?

    For anyone who’s still unsure:

Woman Humiliates Her Fiancé After Finding Out How Much Her Ring Cost

Before popping the big question, a man first needs to ask himself how much is he willing to spend on the engagement ring.

Because it’s the ring she’s making a lifetime commitment to, not him.

And while some think proposals shouldn’t be about the expensive jewelry, others claim the ring has to be worth between one and three-months salary. Recently, one woman who probably agrees with the latter has decided to shame her fiancé online after he disappointed her with a too small of a diamond.

    “Some” think. “One” woman.

Incredible. This ought to be required reading in schools, alongside text manuals and famous literature. Boys need to know this.

You might be surprised at the number of websites that buy engagement rings.

Of course a woman demands an expensive ring.
First, a large ring affords her prestige with the hive
Second, when she sells the ring she will reap a greater windfall.

The engagement ring is not about you or your love.
The engagement ring is about money.
Watch how fast she will sell the ring once she decides she is not happy.
You are better off throwing your money into the river

We all know the diamond ring business is a COMPLETE SCAM. Diamonds are a girl’s best friend. But they’re not ‘rare’ and women have been a sold a marketing lie and believed it.

What is it with women that they are so easily fooled?? I guess that explains why women own over 2/3 of the debt in this country.

Good point Shellz, its a marketing scam and they swallowed it. Who invented that salary rule? A man in advertising I will bet. Diamonds are also artificially pumped up in price at every step of the chain. Its actually quite cheap to buy diamonds and if you go to a seller of jewellery supplies, you can pick up diamonds, claws and a ring for about 20-25% of the cost of an engagement ring.

Honestly, I think they probably deserve cubic zirconia anyway. Like most women who want to marry you its cheap, fake but convincing.

I gave my first wife my grandmother’s engagement ring on condition she promised to return it if we split. It was worth perhaps $20000 second hand and irreplaceable as family history. My mother would only let me have it on condition it remained in the family if the marriage failed. My wife promised gladly. It later sat in a drawer for months while we were getting divorced and I would look at it and think “should I take it back?, no I will wait for her to give it back because to take it would be dishonourable”. My mother asked me to take it, saying she would have a fake one made like it to swap it for and I said “no let us be honourable mother” What do you think she did gents? Sold it of course. My mother knew there was no honour among women.

Now diamond hones, that’s another matter. Here you want to pay for the best you can get and I would encourage every man to invest in at least 3. Used gently they can give years of good service and effortlessly sharpened tools.

    OH OH.. TOOL TIME MOTHERF~~~ER!

    SPILL THE BEANS!

I want to know what Diamond hones are best and if there really is a difference between the cheap ones and the good ones?

I honestly miss guys talking about these things that they have inner knowledge on to pass to others.

    Are you talking about this?

Or the sharpening machines that use diamond wheels inside them?

Now this is going to be a good thread now. Something I need to learn. I have just been using a flat block and then sharpen my Kitchen knives when I use to cook daily with the flat stones that you could get at the dollar tree or Harbor Freight.

I always wanted to invest in a REALLY nice Knife set. But.. Well. I was with a Bitch that treated my stuff like s~~~ and so did her Daughters.

You are all alone. If you have been falsely accused of RAPE, DV, PLEASE let all men know about the people who did this. http://register-her.net/web/guest/home

    Hi iMickey503,
“I always wanted to invest in a REALLY nice Knife set. But.. Well. I was with a Bitch that treated my stuff like s~~~ and so did her Daughters.”

Oh don’t get me started on how women treat knives. In fact I think it reflects on how they treat men. A man keeps his knife lovingly honed and will not abuse it to open tins, cut onto steel oven trays or granite work tops. A man can sometimes keep a knife from boyhood to old age. A woman uses a knife till it is blunt, may then attack it roughly with an abrasive but probably just chucks it and gets another.

I am a bit of a sharpening nerd. I have tried a lot of systems over the years and read a lot of things on the subject. You would be surprised how many professional loggers and tree surgeons who are quite handy with a chainsaw (or hand tools for that matter) are still frighteningly slow cutters because they don’t really pay attention to sharpening. Anyhow I digress. It was not a woodsman but an engineer who really put me on the right path to sharpening.

I have had full sets of man made stones, the finest Arkansas stones, Japanese water stones, Chinese stones… In the end I have settled on these diamond stones (quality is important with diamond stones so pay for good well bonded diamonds. Remember its a long term relationship you are investing in):

    https://www.dmtsharp.com/sharpeners/bench-stones/dia-sharp/

They always stay flat. They do not clog. They do not have the irregularities of natural stones. They do not even need water (though you can use it) They certainly don’t need messy honing oil that stinks and is toxic to the skin. They take away a bit of the mystery and romance of sharpening with natural stones from exotic places but they do the job every bit as well as the finest natural hones and they do the job a lot better than the average natural hones.

For a mini sharpening set that will fix just about anything (maybe to keep in your truck); get the small doubled sided hone with coarse and fine grits or extra coarse and fine if you can find it. Then get a corinox file for dealing with serious bevel damage. You can strop the knife on your jeans or belt. With these two pocket sized items, a razor edge is then only minutes away on any knife (or axe for that matter) no matter how blunt.

The most important stone is the extra coarse one (this is where your real work is done restoring a damaged first bevel). You will probably never need finer than “fine” grade unless you are sharpening a razor. The most common mistake is to spend ages plugging away with a fine hone, wearing it out and not addressing the real problems in an edge. Buy a top quality extra coarse stone as a priority. This will restore most things and do it well so you can work gently and concentrate on getting perfect bevels not on pressing hard. You can get an extra, extra coarse but by then a file (preferably corinox for hard edges, especially stainless) is what you really need. Its like painting a wall. You won’t fix in the top coat what you should have fixed with sandpaper first. Success is all about your coarse work. When it comes to finishing an edge, a good quality fine hone is well worth having. If you want to be keen, get a coarse one to go between extra coarse and fine. It will polish your first bevel and with wood working edges and scandi grinds (if you want to keep them smart) it is probably preferable to go through the grades. With meat, skin, ligaments, cloth, carpet, rope (basically fiberous things) it helps to have a little extra bite (invisible teeth in a razor edge) and for this a transition from extra coarse to fine is probably actually preferable to going through the grades.

The simplest sharpening system and one of the easiest is the double bevel. Hone a first bevel till it is perfect and has a slight bur, increase your angle a touch and gently take the bur off with a fine hone. If you just hold the knife at a constant angle and are gentle in applying alternate strokes, its not difficult. Then use a strop or a polished steel to finish. It may shave when you come off the fine hone if you do it well but strop or polished steel anyway to make the edge finer and longer lived. A simple but quite useful rule is that a knife is sharp when every part of the edge will at least shave arm hair.

The polished steel is your best friend for recovering a razor edge after normal use. I have some good German butcher’s knives that will butcher and joint a deer and come back to shaving sharp about 4 times before they have to go back to the stones.

Steels that are abrasive do have a place in the kitchen I think but a limited one. A polished steel with no abrasive is your best friend when the knives are just a little blunt. The polished steel just realigns the edge on a mostly microscopic level before bent bits get to crack off and it shaves again. When you are in a hurry and want to get a knife that is a bit blunter back into better working order again then a steel like the one in the picture above is good. However the thing to remember with steels is that they usually tend to create burs. These can make an edge quite fierce for a short while but then they fold over and make it blunt, then they crack off (most of this is microscopic bigger bits you can actually see, a big bur you will be able to feel with your finger nail). So I would advocate only using an abrasive steel mildly or the bur will be big. When it needs more than that, take it back to the Extra coarse flat hone. Only say 7 strokes per side and 8 alternate are usually needed for a stainless knife that is not too worn (less for a carbon one) so it is not a big faff, then fine hone and polished steel. It does take longer than using a steel but then you are back in the world of scary sharp and an abrasive steel can never take you there.

Sorry I missed the question about the differences between diamond hones -yes there is great difference between cheap and expensive. You can check it out on the internet but from memory the difference comes in these main areas; Number of diamonds per square inch (more diamonds, more sharpening per stroke), Uniformity of diamond size (no big scratchy ones or little useless ones), Shape of diamonds (multifaceted ones break less easily) and bonding of diamonds to the stone. Unlike women, you pay for what you get and diamonds can be a good reliable friend.

Don’t waste diamonds on women. Women cut well enough already.

Its because they are emotional. They can’t use logic and reasoning very well. Its why advertising appeals to Women. Its why they gave Women the right to vote. Emotional appeal works every time. Prior to Women’s Suffrage Politicians and Advertising Agencies had to make Logical Arguments to persuade the Men.

Now its stupid easy. Like taking candy from a baby.
