Hmmm so men work minimum wage jobs mostly without tips, but a minimum wage job that most women work has society justified in always tipping them…. Sounds consistent with the pay gap…

Because in order to be able to think, you have to risk being offensive.

Should you tip a escort after?

How do you rate whether her performance warrants a tip?

Also, aren’t you setting a bad trend by tipping?  She may come to expect it regardless.

Also, given how much an escort can make, would being a waitress still be the number one job a woman without a college degree could work, and still make a living wage?

I know that I got to dig ditches for minimum wage, no tips, but some broad loafing about a restaurant filling coffee would make twice what I got, something wrong with that…

I guess we tip women after marriages – alimony.

Because in order to be able to think, you have to risk being offensive.

Most mom and pop restaurants (my favorite kind) and many national chains would go broke if they had to raise salaries up to the minimum wage. I’ve done a brief stint as a busboy and another as a waiter, and I can testify my former colleagues survived on tips.

I’ll tip an escort up to 25% if I feel she showed real enthusiasm or professionalism. I’ll do the same for waitresses but it’s been my experience that it’s a lot easier to be professional and enthusiastic about a job that pays from $80 to $300 an hour than one that pays below minimum wage.

IMO hooking is not a tipping profession. If you negotiate a price that is the price. They will take not a penny less. So I will not give them a penny more.

Waitresses and waiters survive on tips, not hookers, they use they’re wiles to extract as much money as they can for you.

And you definitely do cause inflation. If a girl asks for 200 and sucks (no pun intended) them you boycott her. You don’t pay her more than an attorney for sucking your dick. She will come to expect it. If you don’t tip they may grumble but that’s about it. They’re not your girlfriend and they will see you again for the agreed upon price tipping or no. If you want to throw away your money and make it more expensive so you can’t afford it next time, go for it.

    It’s just business.

Tipping in the bar and restaurant industry is nothing more than a ploy by owners to pass their labor costs on to the customer by promoting an adversarial relationship between the customer and their staff. Wait staff expect tips and will treat a customer rudely (or worse) if they feel a tip is not forthcoming or if a customer has been previously identified as a “bad” tipper.

If a bar or restaurant owner cared about their servers’ survival, they would raise their prices 18% and pay their servers a wage they can survive on. Sticking me with that responsibility and then pretending it’s optional for me is just s~~~ty.

Tipping is useful and meaningful *only* when it is completely voluntary, such as when tipping an escort. If I have agreed upon a certain price for a certain service and then feel I have received value in excess of that agreement, I can give extra value in return to foster a positive working relationship. This should not only encourage the service provider to deliver equal or better value in the future but also act as an upward pressure on their pricing.

By paying what I believe is a fair price for the value I have received, I am not making it more expensive for ME in the future, I’m making it more expensive for YOU. You can stick with the “bare minimum price” providers if you like, I want my providers to raise their level of service and their fees, accordingly which is good for them and for me and for the marketplace in general.

Oh, and I have asked for and received better prices from escorts… so yes, they will accept less than their asking price if you know how to negotiate respectfully and effectively. It’s all about the fair exchange of value… bottom feeders create a race to the bottom but people willing to pay for what they’re getting elevate the markets in which they trade.

I’ll only tip an individual whether male or female if they did an outstanding job.

Any unprofessionalism and there goes the tip.

Should also point out that tips go tax free and don’t even get considered for the wage gap because almost no one reports their tip earnings

I’m a good tipper when the service is exceptional and without personal drama or the slightest hint of c~~~y attitude, and the food is good…

On the other hand I’ve scolded both cooks and waitresses alike, I have no problem speaking up when things are WRONG! I’ve found men are much more attentive and faster than women when it comes to service.

I’ve seen more s~~~ty attitudes reflected in women than I’ve seen in men… coincidence? Absolutely not! Why? Because I can’t remember one single incident in “my entire life” where a man’s service was questionable or insincere… NOT ONCE! As for women, countless f~~~ups in countless different ways!

The facts of reality I have nailed down in my life speak louder than any propaganda words shouted by any feminist…

No offence guys, but this is cultural cognitive dissonance. Tips aren’t really a part of the culture in my neck of the woods (restaurants charge a part of the bill as “service”), but still I hear the whining. My future job has a difference of approx $4500 between men and women. This is a FEMALE dominated job where the employer in the name of equality actively seek MALE employees, despite us being more expensive! Still; no female ever ask herself WHY an employer seek more expensive work force! No, it’s all just “poor me”….

Actually the IRS does take into account Tips earnings. Its part of any schedule you fill out for your income for the IRS. In other countries they do not tip waiters and waitresses.

Sure, the IRS expects you to declare your tips but who does?

Exactly. I was a bartender in my college days and didn’t claim one cent of it on my tax returns.

Basically everything you need to know about income tax can be found in Publication 17. I’m not here to debate semantics. Your employer reports the tips and you report your tips as part of income as I said tips are reported. But there is a reason your w2 box 1 says Wages ,Tips, and other compensation.

If you don’t report what the IRS expects, they investigate and nail you for fraud. Most people under report, but if you have significant tip income and just think you are going to consistently get away with not reporting any of it, that is pretty risky.

Under Obama, the IRS even goes after businesses for large cash or large credit percentage of purchases. Apparently they’re supposed to be evenly split and it’s suspicious if it isn’t.

What I was really trying to point out was the fact that a woman can have an entry level job, and I know men can do this job, but the fact remains that it is essentially an entry level job that will pay tips, and it is primarily for women, while men slave in the ditches.

Equality? Pay Gap? It’s quite laughable when you realise how men get screwed in every aspect while women act oppressed.

Because in order to be able to think, you have to risk being offensive.

Completely agree. Eventually I believe men are just going to stop doing it. Let the bull dykes do it or pay men more.
