First off, don’t drag women into this topic, because that’s not what this is about.
Imagine having a love for bowling and gaming and/or pinball, and you like to have a place in your house to have it. Wouldn’t these two images be great to have in the house?

I wonder how much it would cost to have all that on top of buying a house big enough?

Anonymous6Houzz.com is where I get alot of ideas for the house I want to have in the future. Some good s~~~ on there.
Like any other collection/hobby, a “game room” can be built piece by piece.
Garage sales, estate auctions, classifieds, local buy/sell web sites are all good sources…
Pinball machines, foosball tables, pool tables, jukeboxes, dartboards, etc, can be found there…
As far as a bowling alley, you’re on your own…haha..

I wonder how much it would cost to have all that on top of buying a house big enough?Great topic and one that I have also thought about for many years.
The only folks I have ever known able to pull this off had either an unfinished basement, lived in a loft type apartment or had a detached garage that they repurposed.
Good luck!

If I had the money….
I would have an aquarium. Man-style.

I’m going to live on 5-10 acres of land when I retire and have a dedicated audiophile grade listening room for a record collection I hope to slowly build over the years. Don’t forget the floor to ceiling projector screen for movies (at true 2.35:1 aspect ratio). Good to have dreams like this to give you motivation to save for retirement.

If you rescue a damsel in distress, all you will get is a distressed damsel.
It’s good to dream big. Hang pictures of what you want on your walls, it will help you make it happen.

Well lately, I’ve been buying 24X36 posters of movie covers, retro video game covers. I want to get them framed. So buying the posters is only half the purchase. The posters I’ve got now are:
Ninja Turtles – NES
Ninja Turtles III Manhattan Project – NES
Ninja Turtles IV Turtles In Time – SNES
Legend Of Zelda – NES (still in the mailing process)
Sonic The Hedgehog – Genesis (still in the mailing process)
Sonic The Hedgehog – Genesis (different than the above one)
Super Mario Bros – NES (In the mail)
Resident Evil 2 – PlayStation
Tomb Raider II – PlayStation
Resident Evil 5 Chris Redfield – PlayStation 3, silk printed
Big Trouble In Little China – Blu-Ray cover version
Ninja Turtles Comic book image
Resident Evil CODE: Veronica X map poster
TMNT 2007 magazine poster
Coors Light tin sign
Conan The Barbarian 1982 movie cover
Conan The Destroyer movie coverRight now I can’t hang them up because I don’t have the space. I only buy them to make sure that I have them for when I have the opportunity to get a place where I can hang them up.
I am however slowly buying other man cave décor to go with my current man caves and the one later on when I get the ability to move out of my dad’s house. Unfortunately, I’m not making enough to get my own house, even if I get a friend to join me.
Speaking of games and pinball machines, I recently saw a great deal on a Ninja Turtle pinball machine (normally going for $3,800) going for $2,100, it’s shippable from a town 40 minutes away from me I found off Pinside.com. Trouble is, my dad says NO to everything.
When I get the chance, I will be getting pinball machines, arcade games, bubble hockey, air hockey, Black Knight pool table, soda/snack vending machines, a wet bar with beer barrels and taps and LED light patterns on the floor. I like to get the same kind of bowling alley in the above link, but where am I going to get a house that’s at least 100 feet in one length?

Looks kind of tacky, actually. Like a movie theater remodeled in the 90s.
This is more my speed:
