Check these storyies from a lawyer’s website https://lawdiva.wordpress.com/2012/12/17/ill-just-leave-the-country-and-pay-nothing/:

One of the most common threats a lawyer may hear from a beleaguered client is the cry that “I might as well quit work, if I have to pay that much to my ex-wife”. Another is “I’ll just leave the country and then he/she will get nothing.”

Usually these threats are spoken out of frustration and rarely are they acted upon, however, from time to time a parent will abandon his or her family, rather than obey a court order that is perceived by them to be onerous and unfair.

In a recent Ontario case, Hans Mills did just that. He left the country to avoid paying his ex-wife, Donna Mills, spousal and child support of $3772.00 per month, $2235.00 for the children and $1537.00 for his wife.

A very bleak situation for Ms. Mills who is caring for a 10-year-old with cancer in remission, a Downs Syndrome 14-year-old, a depressed teen, age 17, and a 19-year-old son on methadone treatment. How did everything go so wrong?

After separating in 2005, the Mills reached an agreement in 2008 which gave Ms. Mills sole custody of the children, and the family home, valued at $1.2 million (with a $600,000 mortgage), in exchange for a payment to Mr. Mills of $175,000. Because she received the lion’s share of the equity in the home, she agreed to forego spousal support. Mr. Mills earned approximately $100,000 per year and would pay child support.

Three years after their agreement, money issues began to simmer and a trial was scheduled to deal with the problems that had arisen, including Ms. Mill’s alleged inability to work. In an interim application before the trial, the Court ordered Mr. Mills to pay his ex-wife spousal support, including retroactive support and court costs, in spite of the fact that she had received two-thirds of the family home.

Recognizing that the interim order was a precursor to worse things to come, Mr. Mills sold his house, cashed in his pension, paid his bills, and moved to the Philippines, a country where he had done business for years and a country that had no support treaty with Ontario.

Ms. Mills had always feared he would just leave and implored the government agency that collects child and spousal support to register a lien against his house and seize his Canadian and European passports, but to no avail. And then he was gone. His email to his ex-wife read:

“The result of the legal instrument which you recently designed and implemented

is that there is no possibility of a comfortable life or a (secure) retirement for me in

Canada at all. Therefore, I have left the country to seek greener pastures elsewhere

and will never return. Well done Einstein. Good luck and good bye.”

Ms. Mills is perilously close to financial, emotional, physical, and spiritual bankruptcy, but says she will not let her children down, despite the dire circumstances.

As for “Father of the Year”, his actions are despicable. His departure was fueled by a court order to pay spousal support, which he now uses to justify his decision to stop supporting his children. He has expressed hope that one day he can reconcile with his children, “but not in Canada, a morally bankrupt state”.

It is Hans Mills that is “morally bankrupt”.

So as you can see, the female who wrote this article blames the man yet fails to see that he gave his EX 90% of his assets which she probably spent on clothes; she was given a 1.2 million house and says she won’t give up fighting for her children, well, can’t she just sell the mansion, move to a smaller house and live off the money difference? Can’t she work?

Like always, they expect the man to do everything for them. This man would have ended with little over $2000 per month after paying child support and alimony, I think he made a good decision to let the bitch handle the burden of her stupid decisions, I don’t think the children will actually be living on the street like the author implies: If she manages her fortune well, works her ass as she should and even get help from the government (which she will) then why is she bitching? She ruined this man’s life, I would have done the same.

Crap, sometimes you fell that your life sucks and then you read something like this and realize how small your problems are.

Just to have kid that are so f~~~ed must be a good reason to blow your brains out. I think that they should never have started a family, nuff said.

The man followed the rules for as long as he could. He lost so much and still carried on. The woman misspent the lions share she recieved and got the government to demand more of the man simply because of her inability to manage money. The man did what he had to do to insure he had a future, if he stayed he would have next to nothing and in time the woman would’ve demanded that too.

I am a Lithuanian citizen having permanent residency in the US. If s~~~ hits the fan – I can always get lost in a different country. If I ever had to flee the US, I guess I could flee on foot to Canada and take it from there. But one day it might not be possible. Flying has become a privilege which is really easy for governments to control. But I moved across the world before, so I know how it’s done, and nobody is going to stop me if I had to do it again. If and when s~~~ gets real, moving somewhere and starting from scratch is always an option that beats paying s~~~loads of money or sitting in prison, for example

You would be foolish to get married, cohabit or have kids.

There is absolutely nothing 8n it for the guy except the ‘feeling’ of being loved …. which is just chemicals that fade after a short time.

The leeching goes on forever though.

I guarantee the fact that Ms. Mills is reported to care for

    • a 10-year-old with cancer in remission (now probably no different than an normal kid),
    • a Downs Syndrome 14-year-old,
    • a depressed teen, age 17 (so he sulks a lot and they call it depression),
    • a 19-year-old son on methadone treatment (already an adult so not under child support.)

Has been blown way out of proportion to add sympathy for Ms. Mills.  Note that she is reported to have been worried that he was going to take off.  She is little more than a gold digger.  This is all bulls~~~.  He is being made to look like a deadbeat dad.  She went back to court to get more and more.

Same s~~~ happened in my case.

There comes a point where the man has done enough, he gave his home and gave up his custody. I think more men should simply move because there are many situations where this is simply the right thing to do.

I had same thoughts in first divorce, then second one. It is not a real concrete solution. One must do what is right, and I paid fully for child support. I got lucky and did not pay wife support, because I filed papers in court and won my battles.

4 Judges have sided with me, Ontario wise, but it is still expensive to pay support. I pay taxes on support, she declares no income. REMEMBER THIS, I am still ahead, I have made dreams come true, I have all the things I could never wish for with HER HIGHNESS around.

She made choices called my bluff, she left but I won the WAR and the children? It’s on their conscience.

WHY LEAVE YOUR FAMILY AND YOUR HOME FOR A C~~~? A lowly piece of rib! Furniture and chattels can be replaced. Your destiny has much greater plans for you. TO BE REVEALED, one day at a time, and believe me it’s a very good life.

You will thank me for this later. Do not give up. You are a Mgtow Mghow. You will live a good life with eyes wide open.

    Cheers!

Just read the comments section on that article – basically 100% supporting the guy (I didn’t read them all) and when ‘Ms Law Diva’ finally responded to one, it was about something unrelated. She got called for it, and she hid.
