The US federal government receives far too much money and does far too much evil with it – including a blind support of Israel, the disastrous wars the neocons “conned” the general public into, and all sorts of other types of meddling in other peoples’ affairs.

That being said, purposely choosing to be a welfare drone because 1) everyone else is doing it and 2) the money would only be wasted on something else is still indefensible.

I get that and agree, I am a Libertarian, I am just looking for some consistency here and now I got some from you, awesome, would like to see it more often as I have never seen you say something like this. I see no use in beating on the little parasites in the system who are just trying to survive before the big ones who are using my money to kill people who are not my enemy, especially when they already have money of their own…

I’ve never needed to say it because I believed it was obvious.

I see no use in beating on the little leeches in the system who are just trying to survive before the big leeches who are trying to destroy and loot the world all at once.

Big or little, all leeches are the same. Deliberately choosing to be a leech, deliberately choosing to be a problem, and then excusing away that choice because “other people are doing it” and “other people are worse” is reprehensible.

That’s nothing but moral relativism and sophistry.

Several years ago I was at a county fair, we’ve many in New England during the late summer and early autumn. I was walking with some friends through the 4H exhibits and stayed behind to watch some rabbits being judged. When I turned to leave I noticed a money clip on the ground, stooped, and picked it up. There was a few hundred in it and no one saw me pick it up.

I caught up with my friends and told them I needed to go to the fair’s offices. We walked over and I turned in the money clip. One of the people with me remarked that no one would know I’d found the money, implying that I should have simply pocketed it.

I stared at them and replied: “I would know.”

Character is what you do when no one is looking.

It isn’t to many, and I thought you were one of them, good to know you are not.

    I completely misjudged you.

    I completely misjudged you.

As I’ve explained in the past, I fought in both Gulf Wars and Afghanistan not because I believed US foreign policy was correct or that the right decisions had been made, but because of the men I served with.

I fought for them because I would rather die than let them down.

In the end, you don’t fight for theories, slogans, flags, bits of bunting, politics, or any of that nonsense. You fight because the man beside you.

Do not date. Do not impregnate. Do not co-habitate. Above all, do not marry. Reclaim and never again surrender your personal sovereignty.

    I’m at work right now.
Welfare is supposed to be temporary help..not a lifestyle choice.
Self discipline includes finding and keeping employment.
