Of all those people that we work with today and buy things from, mistakes happen. Just recently, I purchased a Projector and they sent out the wrong one. Mistakes happen. Its nothing new.
So when I contacted the business and let them know that they sent out the wrong projector, it almost seemed odd. Let me explain. FOr some reason, I guess they are often dealing with Complete ASSHOLES. And this seems to be a trend with dealing with the typical customer out there. Well, either I’m the odd man out, or people just generally suck, but this guy who runs a business just sent me this email today:

I appreciate the advice and I try to do that.
I’ve been doing some form of retail for longer than I’d care to admit and I have definitely learned that if I do the right thing, it’ll work out well for me more often than not.
It is remarkable just how different your reaction to our mistake was than the typical ebayer. We get a lot of this type of thing… “I know you said, in your listing, that this item doesn’t work but when I got it, it doesn’t work. What am I supposed to do?” for those who think we didn’t know how to test something.
I tell my folks to tell the truth. If it works, say it, if there’s a scratch, say it, take a picture. It’s so much easier than trying to hide anything.
The age-old story, here are my goods, would you like to by any of them?

Our approach is resonating in that we’re growing very well and I appreciate your good thought that we will continue to do so and become an example for others.
Thank you for your understanding and honesty, you’ve got a projector on the way today and I definitely spoke with the guys in shipping about the mix up. We’re getting better all the time over there.

Why did he send me this email? Well he just tried to give me the exact model of replacement projector I Purchased for free. Sure, I like free like anyone else. But this was not his fault and mistakes happen and don’t you dare give it to me for free since you already are losing money on the sale of the item I purchased. I think his jaw dropped for a bit. I kindly explained to him that mistakes happen. Just send out the projector when you can and call it done.
Small things like this make the world a better place. And by doing this, we all win since he does not have to pass on the cost to the next guy as so often happens. In our phone conversation, I think I overheard in the background “Is that the guy we sent the wrong projector too? Really? ”
Now I don’t know if it’s just me, but I can’t be the only one that’s handles problems like this. What I have seen is that many people go out of their way to ruin things for others since it is my belief that after being burned by so many, it’s the only option to take.

Amazing I found this today. It really does go into the Mind of the people we deal with. It also explains why the world is the place that it is.
I’m just glad that I am not apart of the problem. Today, I just said f~~~ it to a contract I was dealing with. After taking over a month and so many delays and problems, they are now trying to stiff me for the materials that I bought for the job. And this is after I had to take charge, tell 4 people on the east coast that I am NOT going to bring a medical clinic in the dark for who knows how long. I could of made so much money just doing what they told me to do, but I did not. I could have been there for days making over $35 bucks an hour just being on hold, on the phone and just playing dumb to what they were asking and doing whatever they said despite the issues and damages it could of caused the clinic and other people in it. They were actually doing ear surgerys while I was there when they asked me to take the entire clinic OFFLINE.
That would have meant no phones, no alarms, no computers, and no using their equipment. Hell even the TV’s would be offline. No 911 nothing. But I would have made TONS of MONEY from this. I would have been there for the next week even overtime and after hours.
But I said no to doing something that they did not seem to understand what would happen.Anyone else would have just did what they asked, and would have not had to take any responsibility for the actions taken or the instructions given. But I did the right thing. And guess what? I am now being screwed and am now waiting over 30 days out for payment.
Sometimes, you have to keep your head up, even though the world seems to try to knock you down. Remember that the next time MGTOW.com has an issue, or goes down. Or people try to bait you into doing things to other men.
We all remember Chernobyl, and Dupont and of course the Famous Feminist Bridge. Deaths could have been prevented if just ONE person said NO.
LEARN to say NO.

Good Job. Winning the respect of customer service just by recognizing they are people and treating them well can go very far. They work the phone and have no control over what shipping does, but they can be supper helpful if treat them right. It’s the decent thing to do.

My ex-wife always wanted to jump straight into confrontational mode with customer service people, and she’d even berate me for not being more “assertive” with them. I explained to her (many times) that it nearly always works out better if you start nice, and that you can ALWAYS become more “assertive” if you need to. I think it was just a power thing for her: “I’m right, you’re wrong, now do what I want”. I’ll be very persistent if I need to be, but I’m polite and respectful about it. I’ve had several sellers on a “certain” auction site THANK me for educating them about properly packing delicate items — sometime people simply don’t know what they don’t know until someone enlightens them (I used to sell on that same site and over several hundred sales, I never had a legit shipping damage claim against me. Did have one or two customers try to pull scams, but that’s a story for another time… I’ll just say: document EVERYTHING if you’re running a business.)
Funny as . Ever notice family court buildings look kinda a dark at night with there tinted windows . What a great screen to project on .
Whats the range on the projector .
Imagine been in a building near by and projecting on to another . So they don’t know where ya projecting from . Or the opposite project from a well lit area .
In between give some shock and horror like a tv add . Lol .
