In today’s world, we depend on Technology to get the job done. Let me tell you MY special ability.

When I REALLY need something to work. It does not. It’s almost like clockwork.

TOday I brought down the US Bank Login system. I wonder if I can use this special gift to do other magical things.

Well, before that. It was just going to be a productive day of going downtown, and taking care of business. NOPE.

Why is that? My car ran out of gas this morning. But HOW? Well that interesting.

My Van’s gas gage tells me I have 1/2 a tank of fuel. Yea, if it was that full? Then it would sound full when I tapped on the tank. Nope. I had the feeling that new O2 sensor fix did not improve gas mileage that much.

So. Today? I was going to get a ride downtown to the VA. But.. I guess I will do that tomorrow.

This should be a lesson learned not to put to much faith in technology. Sometimes I wish I had the Old Chain in the gas tank so I could see how much fuel I really have.

So now its time to fix yet one more thing. And of course.. I did not budget for this.

The Good thing? I think I might have a job! But bad thing? I might need to ask for permission from my Probation officer and BEG to see if I can work outside of the state.

Man. I might be digging ditches or cleaning toilets to make money. How great is that?

You know.. I was Lucky to get my Van home. So right now, its time to see what I can do to get back on the horse again.

Man am I tried of being Broke. Not having a job, and being told no and ignored.

From a guy that just 6 months ago had his whole life going forward, I guess I got to start all over again.

Don’t do anything that involves a condom.

If you rescue a damsel in distress, all you will get is a distressed damsel.

Unless you’re blessed with a major inheritance, work is something you just have to do to keep a roof over your head. For some wise or lucky guys their work involves something they actually enjoy, but they still want paying.

To me it’s just a means to an end. I don’t kid myself that I’m of any great value to the company and I know as soon as it suits their balance sheet I can be replaced to save costs.

I find it ironic that the corporate world expects me to “Go the extra mile” for them in my performance and commitment, but they don’t feel the need to provide extra monetary rewards to me when I do so.

Bit of a one sided arrangement

From my younger years, to my mid 30’s I had no trouble finding a job unless there was a major downturn going on, and then it was the dole for a year till things picked up.

Getting higher education helped make me more marketable, but in reality I swapped the factory floor production line for the office floor production line. Different kind of stress but stress nonetheless.

At least now the money I make I get to keep. It’s not wasted on stuff or experiences I don’t need.

My goal is to build up a good reserve of cash and turn it into silver and gold coins. I’m also involved in Crypto as a potential shortcut to this end.

One thing I have learned is that you need to get established in your field before you hit mid 30’s. After that, you’ll find it hard to get any development or career progression as you are seen as an expense to be exploited rather than a resource to be developed.

Ultimately, your job shouldn’t be your whole life. I know guys like that and I feel sorry for them. They might have more money than me, but their soul is owned.

It’s temporary as are all other things in life. Get in, do what you can to make a buck, make that buck work for you by not wasting it on crap but investing what ever you have left after outgoings.

Look to get out of the Rat Race by the time you are mid 50’s. Don’t leave it any longer as the rewards aren’t worth it and you should have all you need by then anyway.

Just my (hard earned) 2 cents.

Ya i tell people at work, yes I can do that technology for you but have a plan for what you’re going to do when it’s down/broken because that WILL happen and probably more often than either of is happy with.

I don’t really trust technology much either. I keep thinking i can make some money by working online, but internet work is risky, variable, and undocumented.

I just got done looking at working on cars as a mobile mechanic.

30 bucks and hour is not to shabby, and I get to do what I love.

    Nothing like a socket set.
