There I was, agreeing with a guy who said a woman can't manage a baseball team

Having played baseball in college on a very successful team, and thereafter deciding to do something with my life, and then coming back and playing in an over 30 league until I was 41. . . .

Last night, on Fox, some guy whose name escapes me caught a ration of crap from the usual sources for saying that a woman could never get the respect of 25 kids under 30 to control their egos long enough to earn their respect.

I said – I agree with that.

The wife sitting behind me got all p~~~y. Heard the inevitable tone of voice ‘Women can do what men can. . . its the ‘boys’ problem and women are really good at dealing with children.’ I said get off your ass and go haul the solidified 50lb bag of cement that got caught in the rain over the weekend up to the street.’

Nasty ass look. Some mumbling.

Then I said we are both entitled to our opinion, and I’m entitled not to hear that damn superior tone of voice. I’m gonna make smart ass remarks when you do that. Until you know something remotely relevant to what you’re talking about, your opinion is not constructive. You keep telling me not to get involved in your work politics because “I don’t understand the people,” and I’ve done that – so maybe you need to not offer me an opinion in that tone of voice when you don’t understand the people.

I’ve reached the point where I truly don’t give a s~~~ when she starts in. We have a very very good relationship because I simply will tolerate female crap trying to manipulate me or my emotions any more. She’s got buttons I push – sometimes without even thinking about – sometimes it seems they are looking for new buttons.
