The ability to survive damage and stay in the air was one of the A10 strong points, is still an amazing weapon.

No longer can we walk away, we must run. Remove the motive power.

They wanted to resurrect the Skyraider Construction line for vietnam…
but built exactly the same Plane from scratch – OOoomph engines, sturdy as F~~~, with a BRRrRRRrrRt gun and straight wings.
In the 90s, they wanted the Falcon to replace the A-10- and failed miserably
2018 they want the successor to the Falcon to replace the A-10 – and will fail miserably.

If this goes through, it is a Money and Politics thing.

Not a Technical/machine/practical/guns_on_target thing at all.
    Flimsy Toys cannot replace Sledgehammers.

The A-10: F~~~ that Target, and F~~~ everyone around it.

    The flying bathtub!!!!

Hands down my favourite airplane post world war 2; close tie with the F4 Phantom.

Rugged, reliable, high survivability. This mofo could make it back to base with huge structural damage.

If I was to deem an aircraft MGTOW certified – this is it!

The passing of a truly awesome and terrifying aircraft.
When those bad boys were in the air in your AOE, you just knew somebody was about to get f~~~ed in an up close and personal way.

Loud, slow, close to the ground. The problem with the A10 is a modern tank crew can take them out all day long.
Just change its mission to trainer, and back up to the f35.

Maybe they will buy a bunch of souped-up Tucanoes with LGB’s and a.50 in each wing instead of putting the F-35 in there.
like… 400 million to have a Tool for a strafing run against some dickheads hiding in the mountain?
plus pilot training, pension and ammo and fuel? NUTS!

Back to props style. CAS rarely needs radar stealth… sound, visuals and IR are more prevalent…(?)
