This is an entire conference and runway modeling show dedicated to big women who love their curves. My thinking is, if they only would exercise, they wouldn’t be that big. So to justify their heftyness, they give themselves a party and celebrate being unhealthy.

Why???

F~~~ this body positivity bulls~~~ man. This s~~~ is not healthy at all. I bet they all went and ate bad food and starbucks after this s~~~ was over. Not right man. Now i understand everybody is not perfect and people come in all different shapes and sizes, but being unhealthy should NOT be celebrated.

This is sickening. This is not natural!! WTF!!

I'm so lucky that I got to be a part of #theCURVYcon these last few days. As I'm thinking back on the experience, I'm feeling seriously grateful. I'm so grateful to @nadiabou, @ceceolisa & @garnerstyle for putting together an event that helped me to feel acceptance, empathy, encouragement, positivity, love, and community. I loved hearing and sharing body positive messages, especially as they concern fashion. •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••One of the biggest takeaways for me from this whole fabulous weekend is that fashion really is a way to say something, to express ourselves, and that we shouldn't wait until we have the perfect body to make a statement. If you're like me, you probably feel like your body is always a work in progress. We all have goals of what we want to look like and where we want to be physically, but if we wait to get to that point, if we "wait on our weight" as @ceceolisa says, we'll end up missing a lot of opportunities to express who and what we are. We'll miss a lot of opportunities to experience the fun and the joy of fashion. EVERYONE should feel comfortable, confident, AND fashionable regardless of size, age, shape, or race. •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• You don't need to conform to media standards to have the right to use fashion as a form of self-expression. From a business perspective, this body-positive thinking is a gold mine. Think of how many additional yards of fabric it takes to cover those curves? And I am willing to bet that most of those womanatees have divorce-raped their husbanks so they can afford to pay for it.
