Every denominational religion needs a creed. Now that we have established that the so called non-denominational Church of Christ is a denomination in one of my previous topics. Their creed shall now be typed.
Creed-list of rules for a religious denomination to follow that are not written in the Bible.
    Church of Christ Creed
    1. Dont dance.
    2. Dont swim.
    3. Dont use the churches money to help needy non-christians.
    4. Dont use musical instruments for worship service.
    5. Dont drink alcohol.
    6. Women must dress conservatively.
    7. Only men can preach.
    8. Every member must devote 100% of his life to God(or should i say the Church).
    9. You must be a preach, deacon,or elder if you are a leader by nature.
    10. Dont wear shorts unless you are at an athletic event.
    11. Attend church every sunday and wednesday night.
    12. Dress up every sunday morning.
    13. Dont show off your clothing.
    14. No one on one dating(thats only enforced in Extremely conservative churches).
    15. Dont use the churches money for social events or fundraisers.
    16. Dont use the churches money for a kitchen, gym,or a place to eat.
    17. Dont say darn it or other substitutes for curse words.
    18. Dont believe in theistic evolution.
    19. Respect the authority of the Preachers, elders, and deacons by doing what they say.
    20. Give money to the local church every sunday morning.
The so called non-denominational Church of Christ also has an unofficial board of directors to establish communication of each local Church of Christ which is required to be by definition a denomination, but I will save that for another topic.

JD, I thought you were a Satanist!…so tell me why you even care about this “Church of Christ”….or whatever…most, if not all religions have creeds, rules…etc…that’s kind of the point, but who cares? I gave up on organized religion decades ago…and personally couldn’t care less what they do or think.

I am a satanists, but my parents are in the Church of Christ. I am forced to go to a bible school. I am surrounded by that type of Christianity and I find it to be very disturbing.

One of my best friends in highschool was forced to go to a Christian college as well. Needless to say he didn’t enjoy it either but he stuck it out for a couple of years and seemed to come out just fine. I’ll go out on a limb here and suspect that your parents aren’t aware of your religious leanings…as I’m sure that would just go over “wonderfully” at the dinner table.

Well my advice to you would be to just tough it out for now, until you are of age to move out on your own and free yourself from your parents grip in that regard…I would doubt any good would come from confronting them on these issues now.

I don’t envy your position in this matter but good luck regardless.

I appreciate your advice and that was my plan from the start. I only have three weeks left of high school(bible school). My parents told me that they will let me choose where to go to college. I will go to college at a community college for two years and then go to a major university for two years, unless I enlist in the military first.

No worries JD, sounds like you are almost done with the bible school and you’ll be free to choose what you want to do from there. So again, good luck with whatever you decide to do.
