Grabbing a pint in London is a bit trickier these days as a carbon dioxide shortage has forced a major UK wholesaler to limit the amount of beer it sells to customers.

Booker, a division of Tesco, is limiting customers to 10 cases of beer per day and just five cases of cider or soft drinks. The move comes a week after Heineken warned that kegs of some beers, including Amstel, might not be available in Britain.

———Made my own beer with out carbonation. Fine small bubbles, just not a massive amount like in bud or some other crap brand.

    https://news.sky.com/story/some-wetherspoons-run-out-of-draught-john-smiths-and-strongbow-cider-amid-co2-crisis-11418890

If you are planning to drink draught John Smith’s beer or Strongbow cider in a Wetherspoons any time soon you may be disappointed.

The chain says some of its pubs do not currently have those drinks because of the carbon dioxide shortage that has hit the UK.

But the maker of the two popular brands, Heineken, says supplies will be available again in a couple of days.

CO2 crisis will soon hit retailers

Aside from carbonating drinks, CO2 is also used in to freeze products and both Morrisons and Ocado have warned customers that the shortage has affected some frozen product lines.

Scotland’s largest pig processing plant Quality Pork Limited having to suspend its slaughtering process.

————Heineken is a big company, if it is down to a couple of days this might get interesting.

There is the answer right there.
Screw the Paris accord scam, and global warming bulls~~~.
Make more beer, that will reduce it, and as an added bonus make more people happier.

    global warming

Exactly that was the first thing in my mind. if they say there is more CO2 in the air, why don’t they just extract it? Or is the machine broken down or what?

Anyway, am I the only one who does not like too much bubbles in the drink? Some beer is so full of CO2, that it is a foam, and i have to wait for it to be possible to drink it.

Sorry, I’m a scientist and when I read your post I didn’t understand a thing you said because you said this was all caused by a carbon dioxide shortage. Knowing that the carbon dioxide content of air is definitely increasing I couldn’t understand how global warming caused less carbon dioxide in England right around the time of the World Cup.

Then I read the article. I’m such an idiot.

‘Only’ 10 cases of beer per customer lol. F~~~, that reminds me of the cricket in Aus where they limited each attendee to ‘only’ 1 carton of beer per day. I’d get alcohol poisoning from that.

Amstel’s rat p~~~ anyway, no huge loss.

Firstly CO2’s contribution to the greenhouse effect is tiny.

Secondly the shortage is simply due to maintenance at various plants nothing more than that.

I have just been to Tesco on the way home from my s~~~ job and there was plenty of beer on the shelves and no restrictions.

    It’s anon story this.

“is limiting customers to 10 cases of beer per day and just five cases of cider or soft drinks.“

Please tell me this is a joke or is poorly worded.
